  PROJECT JERICHO--What are the advantages of a mass exodus?

  i have seen lots of encouragement for us to 'unite' and accomplish something that would set back the wt society, but in such a diverse group as we are, it seems that even though we are together, we are alone.. has anyone thought of the possibility of 'semi' organizing a date certain for a bunch to abandon the organization?

  kind of like the exodus, or someting along those line.

  maybe a loosely organized letter writing campaign.

  A proposal:

  What if we say the first day of every month can be used for tying up the WTS phone lines. It's easy to remember and may be a time that is more disruptive than usual. If you can't call that day, just call as soon as you can afterwards. Every month can have a theme. I suggest the theme for February can be the UN scandal. We can say something as simple as, "I'm calling to find out if the Watchtower Society was really listed as a NGO with the U.N." or "I'm calling to protest your involvement with the United Nations."

  What do you think? It might not be the best plan, but at least it's a plan and can be implemented soon. I'm planning on doing this and welcome anyone who wants to join me. If anyone has better or different ideas, please let us know. We can also review things we might want to say. (I suggested the U.N. scandal, because it might take more time to prepare for topics like blood or pedophilia.) After a little discussion, maybe we can announce our plans on a separate thread.

  I just checked and the second reference was about me. I hope to someday be the most famous person with my name on the Internet. I just have to find a way to beat the dress designer who is number one.

  Does anyone have knowledge of Vinyl LP's/all classical music some unopened?

  an uncle of mine bought a house from an older lady and she left about 300 lps all classical music.

  all in excellent condition.

  i have searched the net and am trying to figure out what to do with them.

  I have a massive collection of classical records. I bought most of them for 25 to 50 cents in bargain bins. They just aren't worth much, at least where I live. The unopened ones, however, could be pretty valuable to some collectors. It would be fun to hear what you have.

  Crazy Idea...or is it? Something similar to the Truth tobacco campaigns

  hey everbody,

  i think it would be great, yet i dont know how plausible it would be, to launch an organized campaign against the wtbs similar what the truth about tobacco people do.

  every so often they have a coordinated display to draw attention to tobacco companies as well as the general public about the dangers of smoking, second hand smoke, etc.

  My First Witness to a Witness

  so, i don't start many topics here, but i felt this needed to be shared.

  i had just landed at the airport and was walking out of the concourse when i noticed a stand that had been set up by an obviously married older witness couple.

  they were very patiently waiting behind their counter covered with the latest publications.

  Good job and good reasoning. I think it would be very unusual for a serious dub to admit doubts while he is trying to save people, but if you ask good questions, he might give it serious thought later. It makes it hard to know if antiwitnessing is doing any good, but it could have an effect, even if it takes years.

  Do You Remember The Last Time

  long time faders and those who have been out for a while....do you remember your last day in field service or your last meeting?.

  my last day in field service was a "million" years ago.

  but, i remember it vividly.

  I was with some old timers. When we stopped for break, someone asked us for a little money for food. The others thought it was wrong to give beggars money. I usually avoid that too, but he looked pretty hungry so I gave him some french fries. The others just lectured him on how they were on a fixed income and couldn't spare anything. I thought about how hypocritical it was to burn gas in service, but not be willing to show kindness.

  Law suits by the Society against websites

  on this site and others i have been reading about the watchtower society suing bloggers and website owners because they quoted the watchtowers publications.

  a couple of observations.

  if you quote a publication that was publically distributed by the millions of copies, how could you be liable?

  Suppose the WTS sues someone with limited assets and they don't try to defend themselves. They just notify the media and make it look like a David and Goliath scenario. I wonder if the WTS would continue amid the bad publicity or just give up.

  Someone In The Know Told Me About The Society's New Plans!

  from now on, no dates will be espoused for future prophetic events!.

  there will be a in-house elder arrangement that no longer depends upon the watchtower society's influence.. judicial commitees will no longer be in existence.

  congregation members will have an active role in keeping the congregation clean while exercising appropriate mercy.. kingdom halls will mostly be sold and assembly halls will transmit circuit meetings by telephone, closed circuit tv, radio frequencies and by telephone every week.

  I think this post may make more sense if you read his recent comment at another thread.

  I'm sorry to sound "harsh" here, but do you folks believe everything somebody tells you??? What real evidence does anyone have here?? I think there are some gullible people here. You get 2 posters out of nowhere tell us all the behind the scenes jockeying that's been going on for quite some time now, and all of a sudden, we should accept it as gospel? Something doesn't seem right to this skeptic!

  when reading the apostle paul's chastisement of the corinthians about their drunken, gluttonous demeanor during the memorial, i used to wonder how in the world could anyone possibly overeat on just the unleavened bread?

  and, i used to think that if anyone got drunk, it was because they drank too much wine on an empty stomach.

  after a careful reading, i came to the conclusion that this was an actual meal served in someone's home!

  Some are left out, and go home hungry.

  It's funny that the vast majority of Jehovah's Witnesses eat nothing at the Lord's Evening Meal. Can they be any less appreciative?
