Good News
by Cicatrix inmy son and i were talking about our family's past involvement with the jws.
he told me he can't recall anyone we knew or any specific things we were taught at the meetings.
the only thing he remembers is that we used to give him answers when he raised his hand, so he could feel like a big boy, lol!i i'm so glad for him and his younger brother that we left when they were young (7 and 5).

No natural affection
by Renegade ini find it strange that the witnesses often rant about natural affection.
but the thing is, when people are disfellowshipped, in most cases the persons family cut off any contact with them, they stray to the other side of the road when they see them etc.
now, this must mean that a witness family only loves you for your behaviour not for who you are.

In a SPECIAL NEEDS talk, DFING was to be considered a form of discipline. For the individual involved, he was to embrace it as a loving gesture from jehovah. If he was regularly attending meetings, then he was displaying his appreciation for such. Natural affection by the cong would displayed to him by NOT encouraging him with smiles, or those cute little silent gestures, like" we know you're here, keep up the good work sort of thingy". RIGHT!! Give me a break! One day my wife will post an earful on that subject. She's not jw, never has been, hates em.

WHERE DO YOU POST FROM? ANY PARTICULAR TIME?
by Dansk inwhen i started posting this morning it struck me that i was in the company of others around the world who were just getting up or going to bed.
one can actually see when the brits have hit the forum - like now .
do you post from home or work or both?.

Yes, it can be addicting, can't it? I have found that I need to temper my use here, as I have a tendancy to neglect other things I need to do. Like now, I need to get a shower and get ready for work. I'm not looking forward to driving in the fresh snow, it's probably glazed the roads and people here tend to forget how to drive in it.

Well,I just got up here in the midwest.I am having my first of 2 cups of coffee. I usually read last nights posts also, and just kinda get a feel for what's on peoples minds today. If I dwelled too much on something that was on my mind last night then I will make up a new post for discussion. We got a light dusting of globalwarming last night, supposed to get it off and on today. I work for myself, so I may get home any time after noon or such. May browse a bit before my wife gets home form her job. It all depends on what is bothering me or what new things I have learned from everyone here as to my new subjects to post. Thankyou

WOULD WOMEN MAKE GOOD ELDERS?
by Dansk ini've come to love and cherish much of the wisdom that emanates from the dear ladies of this forum and believe watchtower boobed in making all women subservient to the men.
so, do you think women would make good elders?.

There are in fact many sisters who have a much deeper and broader grasp of the bible than some elders I have known. Coupe that with compassion and you never know. On the other hand, can they temper their hormones? Go figure.

Yah, I'm waiting for the same visit here. However, my wife is not a jw and, her name is also on the mortagage and the house. Therefore, it's Her house and she can do whatever she pleases with it. Oh, of course we hung the lights ALL around the roof , and the porch, and the flying reindeer, and the lighted snowman family. GEE! I LOVE THIS CHRISTMAS thing. So what can they say to THAT!
