  Experiences with so called "minorities" as JWs

  i was thinking the other day that by and large, i had more positive experiences with black jws and other "minorities" in the borg.

  not completely 100% as there are a-holes in every "race," but for the most part, the black jws were more loving, accepting, and tolerant than the white jws.. i haven't had much experience with hispanic jws but the few i've had, were pleasant.. this isn't to say that a lot of the white jws weren't kind, on the contrary, many were.

  i just find it interesting that when i tally up all the negative vs. positive experiences with other jws, i haven't had many negative ones with black jws.

  In a congregation that I attended in the mid 70's, a mixed one, we had a black brother that claimed to be of the annointed. A few years later he recanted and quit partaking.

  On the other isssue, I knew many blacks that were VERYconscious of their color. Some had issues with this matter and always had a chip on their shoulder. One couple I was friends with vocally expressed their own desire to have been white. He was an elder and often gave talks away in the inner city. On one such occasion on the drive home the younger son, about 6 at the time made the observation to his parents that " Did you notice that we were the only WHITE people there" !! His mother let him know that, " Son, I hate to tell you this but you are BLACK."

  I was a natural from age of 8 back in the 50's. After a while, I'd walk up to the mike, look at the audience, smile, one glance at my notes and away I went. Sometime if I didn't have the right spot in my notes I'd adlib and know one knew the differance. They weren't listening to half the parts that were given anyways.

  Bonafide......Thank you. You are the second person to relate that the speaker DID refer to Jehovah's -Witnesses.com. Why would they even speak such a thing from the platform???? Strange, or perhaps the speaker did this intentionally????Is her ONE of US?

  ....waking up to the real truth about the truth?......when it first really hit me like a shovel in the face.....i actually said to the co i would have to leave my wife and son (not hers)) and he is now 20 (not the co..my son), and i said it because i knew i would now never measure up to the "spiritual head" model.

  cause i knew it was all bs...but have not really ran away yet....at least not for more than a week at a time.........doing better actually.......but did you want to at least move or something?

  Oompa.......NAAAA I had already started my fade when I learned the troof about the troof. I am much happier knowing it was all a lie but the hard part is that I still have 2 sons that think otherwise. At least my older son still believes. So, I won't rock their boat as I have a grandson that I wish to watch grow up. Same story , eh Oompa?? At least I haven't been inside a KH in over 4 years, thank you very much.

  However, I would just love to rock the boats of some very hard core family members that think the sun shines out of bethel.

  after your own personal experiences within the jws, do you conclude that the normal rank and file jw is worse than a person in the "world", better, or no different.

  what do you base your conclusions on???.

  Well, ya know what? It's not a matter of who's worse and who's not....It's all about the attitude towards WHAT you are, claim to be or aren't.If it's about being a jw and are they better or worse??? Let's just say that for the most part in their wrong doings it's all about their being HYPOCRITES about it all. They make the claim of being god's people and they will deny to the hilt that they do wrong. They slander, they steal, they commit adultery, they fornicate, they have alternative lifestyles, they commit murder, they rape, they sexually abuse children, they lie to the authorities, they protect pedophiles, so what else can you say that makes them any better than people that aren't jw's. In a nut shell. We all live in the same upside down world and they just seem to make the most noise when they are turned upside down.

  Best JW tall story/variations of it?

  dont just list one, list them all so we can laugh because in all honesty i can't believe we believed some of them.

  for example, i was told annie lennox stopped a concert to ask if there was any jw's in the audience, and if there was could they leave as they were stopping the demons getting through...is this even remotely true?

  did annie lennox ask the jw's in the audience to move because they were stopping the snack lady getting through...and it got twisted through chinese whispers.... the other day (i felt sick) one witness was banging on about how amazing it was that the watchtower society's building was the only one standing still...wtf...my stepdad responded with a 'wow thats amazing' and the first brother was like 'yeah i know'...grrrrrrrrr aaaaaaaah screaaaaaaaaam .

  DID YOU KNOW????In the 1970's the song " Crystal Blue Persuasion". by Tommy James and the Shondels, was actually about the TRUTH boook. He had recently become a witness and so the lyrics to that song. Listen carefully and you will see the facts of the song. True.

  Heybaby!! It's a lighter load that WE carry these days. And yes, we do feel better with each passing day that we no longer support the WTBTS... Did they EVER support US?? Slave owners do NOT support their slaves.

  I am soooo glad that I quit going at all BEFORE I came to JWD. I doubt that I would have been able to restrain myself from screaming BS from my seat at each increment of this crap. Hence, my question as to how any of us here are still able to attend ANY function of the WTBTS. Just the occasional conversation with my sister-in-law tempts me to call BS on her.
