hello friends!.
i've been a member here for quite a while even though i haven't posted much the past few years.
i faded from jws starting in 2005 and it was the best decision i ever made.. i feel like i have grown spiritually because i'm no longer locked into a certain way of thinking as the society would have us do, being fearful of listening to other religious beliefs because they are a part of christendom and worst of all, because if one did while in the org.

i would rather be AWARE than AWAKE!!!
chickpea of the "living this one sure life" class
i found it amazing being raised in the witnesses to see exactly who got appointed sometimes as an elder.
it seemed that the criteria in my opinion had more to do with getting 10 hours a month in field service, answering at meetings, carrying microphones as a ministerial servant, or handling the magazine or literature counter !
in doing these " functions " and attending meetings on a regular basis - a man was thought to be considered " spiritually strong " and qualify to be an elder and serve on judicial committees judging people's personal problems.
in the KH i attended there were father/son combos
as well as a FIL/SIL combo, with grandsons being
MSs right out of high school... very inbred, with a few
that seemed to be revolving door types; appointed
and deleted every 5 years or so
one guy was an outsider, he came from MTS,
was made the PO... have no idea if it carried
over as CoBoE....
my fave was an unmarried virgin who
counseled married people with real
marital issues... stellar advice was to
"read the family happiness book"
as i just finished up my lunch, i thought i would relate this experience to you all.
i was sitting in the lunch room here at work and 2 ladies were talking.
what were they talking about?
i was a thrift store junkie long before
i drank the k00l-aid so i was unimpressed
and probably a little pissy when one of
the uber-righteous sisduhs pointed out
that the thrift shop in my community was
"RUN BY CHURCHES"*
oh.the.horror.
needless to say, i still shop there
and no longer associate with said
sisduh
*funds distributed to: public library, domestic crisis shelter,
free-clinic, school lunch program, humane association...
those bad @ss mofo churches and their charity ruse!!!
OH and i guess the JWs cant use the library or free
clinic now since the debbil supports them... AS IF!
lets say you are enjoying a glass of good red wine while preparing dinner.
you pick up your glass for a sip and see a gnat floating on top.
1. pour the whole thing in the sink and pour a fresh one.. 2. pick out the gnat and drink the wine.. 3. ignore it and drink the wine and the gnat.. i am a 2. i have done a 3 and it didn't spoil my appetite.. .
easily 2 and not too proud to say 3 doesnt even make me blink...
that being said, i am no bear grylls...
some of the crap he puts in his mouth...... EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
i would like to see variety of suggestions.
thank you!.
we heat them in hot oil for about 10 seconds to soften them
for breakfast tacos (family name for the dish)
scrambled eggs with cumin, cilantro, garlic, chili powder
crumbled spicy pork sausage
shredded hash browns
grated cheese
salsa
omYUM
holy crap!
he probably votes!.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zga7nt-jxno.
i SO agree with that "mullah" inference, SL
it is scary to think that there are VOTERS who
think that way, and that they believe their views
of morality have to be ENFORCED on everyone else...
dont approve of abortion? dont have one?
dont approve of marriage equality? then stick to hetero marriage
cling to YOUR morality for your reasons, but dont expect everyone
to clap you on the back and say what a decent chap you are
is it really that hard to understand?
i used to be in awe at the jw's who were so good at the doors.
they were conversational, informative, and knowledgeable.
i sucked.
eh, i did ok... nothing stellar
no bible students that can recall
altho there was one woman who
was an informal "RV" that liked to
hear things so she could think on
them when she did her chores....
so i sought her out every week to
count the time! no dressing up req.!
never took literature, that one!
