I think the guys who would have done this in the past like Greg Stafford have all either been DF'd or DA'd themselves. Those days or discussion are over. Now its a handful of uneducated JW's who dont even know their own docterine on internet forums who barely can make cohesive arguments and usually resort to insults. The forum with the most JW's is probably topix, and most of them are either not baptised, inactive, or lie about not being a JW. And their idea of a retort is to just post links to the watchtower website and call you an apostate. LOL

Im pretty sure the JW's saying only those who speak out are apostates are using their own personal definition. I believe the insight book states that among other things people who "fall away" are apostate.
My favorite response so far is the JW's who claim "the watchtower didnt say that". That is just an epic response because its so wrong and foolish.
And even more foolish are the ones claiming "they didnt mean it", I even heard one JW say it was either a metaphore, or wait for it.................a joke. LOL, when has the watchtower ever told a joke?!?!?!? LOLOLOLOL
JW's will defend anything the watchtower does and its hilarous.

Sorry, I will not listen to anything that has to do with Rick, after he was exposed over and over on this forum as an outright liar, and promoter of hate speach against homosexuals.
While I 100% disagree with Barbara on the subject of Rick, I find her to be the exact opposite of Rick, an honest person who conducts her research the right way with honesty and integrity.

nateb, you touch upon something that I have been wondering about. How did the lawyers at watchtower let this article get printed? I wonder if as you say, they are so desperate that in their minds the risk of outrage it would cause would be worth it to retain members. This article was scientology sloppy. scientology is run by a bunch of lunitics, but watchtower is run by shrewd lawyers who usually try to stay one step ahead. But this was just sloppy and dumb to do. Oh well, im glad it happened, this has been a great week!

I dont doubt what the OP is claiming, but I have to see for myself a letter from the watchtower that states that the members are not volunteers, i mean that is ridiculus, and I would think that would at least raise some eye brows among the flock. I mean, seriously? You have got to be kidding me.

Mass defection possible?

i was wondering..... if there was an organized and well publicized effort to leave the organization en-masse on a certain date yet to be determined, how many do you think would participate?.
one person leaves the org and it creates a small ripple.

The only was I see that happening is if somehow the watchtower drops the shunning policy. but that odds of that are so slim. that would be like shooting themselves in the head. groups like that cant exist without shunning.

almost all of the watchtower docterine is wrong, so why any of us want to make a splinter group? in addition, many here have found evidence that they believe proves the bible is not what it claims and have moved on from religion. so why would they want to start a group?
