im about to get one as well, there has been a lot of home invasions in my area, one where they tied up a family and held them at gun point. its one thing if a crack head breaks into my house to steal, most times they may run away if you have a gun, so i wouldnt kill someone like that. and if they run i wouldnt even shoot him. but if you come into my house looking to tie me and my 3 year old son up and possibly kill us, then i will not hesitate to do what i have to do to make sure that doesnt happen. i guess its part of lifes cycle, this has almost always been a great area, but alot of bad stuff has been happening. this is what i dont get about total anti gun people, what are you suposse to do, just let them tie you and your family up? i dont get it.

sorry for your loss. I can relate, a JW friend did the same thing about a year ago. It was a tough time because while dealing with that I had to watch how fucked up JW's treat and handle such situations like the first thing out of their mouth is shit like "well, we cant have the funeral in the kingdom hall" sick cult.

honestly, i think if you just go through the motions for a while longer, things with this guy keeping track of you may fizzle. so kind of just do it, but not act excited and he may get tired of trying, JW's do that all the time. just kind of get numb to any person that tries to push you and just play it off, then when you turn 18 or are at an age to get your own place, then you can fade. DO NOT GET BAPTIZED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES IF YOU WANT ANY TYPE OF RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR FAMILY.

i was total anti bush so i dont think the left can talk about people talking about obama. and while the right has said tons of insane things about Obama, he has done some horrific things like drone strikes, destroying the bill of rights, outright lying about medical marijuana raiding, etc.
so my only beef is if you are going to point out bad things Obama is doing, make sure they are real, not crazy stuff like the birth cirtificate, etc.

sadly one thing that i was looking forward to when leaving JW's was those worldly girls that would bed you in a heart beat. They dont exist, LOL! Im single and activly dating, and most of the girls I date are normal. Normal is fine, I have no problem with it, but its just another striking realization to how much the watchtower lies about non-jw's.

im still shocked by this, i mean, 15 years ago the "bad guys" or "bad things" in a JW drama were murder, stealing, fornication, fighting, drunkeness, drugs, etc. But now "bad things" are getting a job, moving out of your parents house, moving in or being friends with a brother that plays video games, working full time, not working for your parents business.
i mean in that drama when the kid at 21 moved out of the house to live WITH A FELLOW JW, the parents acted as if he was disfellowshipped. the mother exclaimed "this is like a death!"
they are insane.

Why does god kill children?
by Comatose ini was thinking about all the accounts in the bible that indicate god kills children as a punishment or teaching experience.
1. kills all of egypts firstborn sons, who were innocent kids who did nothing to him or his people, who had no control over the decisions pharoah made.
how many times have you read that account or thought about it without realizing the devastating pain dealt to all those parents, and remembered those were innocent kids?.

The "god" of text is the projection of those who were sociopaths...
I think this is brilliant because its so simple but basicly what I have come to believe. I remember I studied the new testament, and came away still a christian. But I felt that to be fair, I had to study the OT just as deeply. So I did, and I think I got until Joshua before realizing what Terry posted above. I mean, not exactly what Terry posted, but one observatio is its clear that the OT was written by a group of men who were trying to make their God look like the baddest mofo on the block!
And then when you break it down deeper, you can clearly see that the God of the OT is not a "god of love", he makes Hitler look like Ghandi. And none of the defenses christians come up with for these deeply disturbing passages make sense and many times just make them look foolish or cold blooded.
