At Vet stadium one time around 93-94 there was a record breaking heat wave during our assembly, I mean it was deadly heat, it was 110 degrees on the field. Did they call it off? Of course not, the Drama still went on and there were people on the field in heavy drama clothes in 110 degree heat. Eldery people were passing out, it was insane. Fortunatly for me my parents were not nut jobs and we skipped the next day cause it was too hot. I dont know at that time skipping wasent noticed, but if we would have skipped in 2011 it would have caused an uproar, i mean even if you break up the assembly and go to a couple different ones it causes an uproar.

Is It Normal for a JW to give a Return Visit print-outs of information?
by Broken Promises inyesterday i had another visit from a jw who has started calling on me after a few discussions.
i wrote about her in a previous thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/209531/1/jw-at-my-door-admits-that-shee28099s-had-doubts i'm pretending to be an interested one, and we've had some nice discussions.
i am trying to get her to research her religion via "innocent" questions i bring up.. i've noticed that each time she calls on me, she's given me printed information.

If she is giving you print outs of non-jw material, that is a great sign. is it normal for your average JW to do it? No. But its normal for people like myself when they were starting to research the JW docterine. I have a ton of print outs from that time. So I'd say that is a great sign.

12 Things That The Mainstream Media Is Being Strangely Quiet About Right Now
by NeckBeard inas the mainstream media continues to be obsessed with anthony weiner and his bizarre adventures on twitter, much more serious events are happening around the world that are getting very little attention.
in america today, if the mainstream media does not cover something it is almost as if it never happened.
right now, the worst nuclear disaster in human history continues to unfold in japan , u.s. nuclear facilities are being threatened by flood waters, the u.s. military is bombing yemen, gigantic cracks in the earth are appearing all over the globe and the largest wildfire in arizona history is causing immense devastation.

Im not sure about the rest of the stuff on your list, but Arnold Gundersen has as much credibility as Alex Jones. The whole "there are babies dying in the northwest because of Fukushima" has been debunked.

as i get more and more away from this cult, and more and more educated, situations like this are starting to amaze me. I mean, here we have a situation where some clowns who think they have authority are trying to track down TimothyT simply because he is gay. It is no ones buisness number one and number two its ridiculus to track someone down to invoke punishment on someone for something they have no control over. Im speaking as a hetrosexual married man with a child, Im so tired of this anti gay shit that im getting to the point of lumping it in with the KKK and neo nazi crowd. Maybe that is extreme, I dont know. But in 50 years I think (hopefully) we may look back as a society and be like "wow, they did that to gay people" just like they look back at the civil rights stuff like "wow they did that to black people". It should be illegal in america for elders to be able to even think about trying to track this young man down for his sexual orientation.
Anyway, sorry to go off. As far as advice, what you wrote is pretty much what I do, i dont acknowlege their authority, they have none, I dont answer the phone, I dont answer the door, and if I were to get a letter via certified mail I would refuse it.
You asked what can happen? If they want to bad enough they can DF you in "abstentia", but before that happens usually you will get a letter via certified mail. But if I were you I'd play it just like you typed, ignore, ignore, and ignore.
Good luck Timothy, just live your life, you are happier and can be yourself and love who you want.

Wow, I really think the watchtower is getting extreme. I mean, back in the mid 90's when I was a JW the "sins" were adultery, murder, fornication, stealing, rape, or even the minor ones were like idolatry, profanity, porn, etc.
But in 2011 the sins are watching tv, playing an instrument or having a hobby, playing video games, relaxing (yes relaxing, at the assembly they had a part about babylon the great and people who relaxed had the mark of babylon) vacations, education, a full time job, and research.
Its totally insane and ridiculus. The watchtower has lost its mind.

"When Was the Bible Written?" June 1, 2011 Public Edition--Oh, Wow!
by Cadellin ini say, "oh, wow!
" because this article is a showcase for all of the ways that the writing dept.
has lost any shred of authoritative ethos or credibility.

i am blown away, wow. i dont know why but my gut makes me think he was just ignorant. i mean the "bible gods word or mans" book describes higher critism and lower critism. but of course that book was written years ago, and given the more cultic grip tightning by the watchtower, and the dumbing down of publications to levels that i didnt think were possible, and maybe it is the demonizing to anything outside watchtower publications. one of the reasons i cant stop coming here is watching what the watchtower does next, they are moving rapidly, to what i dont know. i wonder what their end game is.

so are you guys saying that the watchtower doesnt tell its members that this is an ok fraction to take? you would think an organization that enforces deadly docterine on its people would at least be clear on what they can and cannot take. its shockingly disgusting to think that there are people who have died over this one fraction who in hindsite could have actually taken it since its approved as "for a christian to decide". but maybe i dont have all my facts straight, i hope im wrong.

Egyptian Religion VS YAHWEH (The Baby Killer)
by NomadSoul inhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/infanticide#ancient_egypt.
in egyptian households, at all social levels, children of both sexes were valued and there is no evidence of infanticide.
[14] the religion of the ancient egyptians forbade infanticide and during the greco-roman period they rescued abandoned babies from manure heaps, a common method of infanticide by greeks or romans, and were allowed to either adopt them as foundlings or raise them as slaves, often giving them names such as "copro -" to memorialise their rescue.

This brings up what I have been thinking about in regards to the OT passages with the God sanctioned genoside. For example, it is argued that the people who were to be slaughtered were very wicked. So what if I give you that? Lets say they were wicked, and that means killing all the men, women, and teenagers. But babies and tolders could be taken out of that enviorement and raised with the "Godly ideals" of the Isrealites. Babies are not "too far gone" and this example of what the Egyptians did is a prime example. So my question that I am asking myself, is why didnt God tell the Isrealites to take the babies and raise them? Why kill the babies? This is something that cannot reconsile. I mean, wouldnt that be the right, loving thing to do? Isnt God suposse to be even more moral and loving as a human that can see the situation here?
