the phrase "its a cult" came to my mind, but also what came to my mind was "yeah, but what is the God of the OT's excuse?"
there are two parties that are "sick fu*s".
religion in general takes away enough human dignity as it is: born in sin, indebted to christ, worthless, imperfect, dirty, and in need of salvation.
watchtower takes it to a "whole-nutha level" for people in search of this salvation: hoarding the heavenly hope to a select few, demanding faith only by enough works (...and then only "probably you" may be saved), cock-blocking our way to christ by claiming he only mediates for them...etc.. in addition, their oral laws rob us of individualism, free thought, investment in future, healthy sex lives, education, free choice, association and emotional and financial stability.. any story of rape or molestation we read about uses one word when referring to the victim: innocent.
when a woman or young person is raped, we read that "their innocence was stolen" when that crime occured.

another piece on the joys of witnesshood.. http://heraldsun.com/bookmark/14860998/article-jehovah%27s+witnesses%3a+a+family+conversion#.tj2jip7llug.
unky punk is this swarm potential?.
Nickolas brings up good questions, im not sure how exactly stuff like this happens, but when I see sentances like:
"We don't think we're any different than anyone else," she said. "We found different answers now, different places to find strength and hope."
and
"They check versions of Scripture in different Bible translations, including Greek."
I call propaganda. Now if its the author, or the newspaper itself I have no idea. Seems like this are creeping up more and more, or it could be the fact that its convention season.

wife has been to two already....hers and another with a gf for a gf weekend dc thingy....her cuz has a part on the dc about two hours away and she wants to see him and fam......so taaaadaaaaa my elder/dad is taking me to the hospital.....the good ol...we can talk to you if it is a family emergency option overide ......good god (not) this is so insane....i feel like i am the twilight zone...........oompa.
i mean morals...natural inborn morals....that you love and protect your family and you show them love and not just say it......
reminds me of when my wife was on the phone with her boss about 45 mins before the meeting and her boss basicly had a stroke while my wife was on the phone. her husband was not home, just her young children. so my wife and I call 911, rush over there and find this women passed out on the floor with one of her kids standing there. long story short, police and paramedics came, took her to the hospital, we stayed and watched the kids until the father came home causing us to miss the meeting. at the next meeting while telling this story to an elder that asked why we were missing last meeting, he felt as though we should have let 911 handle everything and still came to the meeting. sick.
also reminds me of when my mother was working full time like 50 hours a week, in addition to taking care of her sick mother. this caused her to miss a couple meetings. when my mother explained her situation, they asked "cant you put your mother in a home?"
they are sicko's
i remember one time when i was about 17 years old, i wanted to arrange a costume party for the young brothers in the congo around my age.
i suggested it to one of my friends and was told that the elders had advised against it because it could be construed as pagan and masks have their roots in demonism.
of course, i was never shown any biblical proof of this but just that response took the wind out of my sails and i decided to just not go through with it.
one of the stupidest things i ever read was in a series of letters written by an elder to the watchtower (i think its on ajwrb) where in response about fractions the watchtower gave the illistration about what if your mother told you not to touch the pot of potatoes on the stove, and the watchtower went on to say if you took the potatoes and broke them down into fractions then you were obeying your mother. it was one of the key things that helped me realized how insane the blood docterine is.
a while back djeggnog said to me.... "evidently you want the readers of your book to believe what jehovah's witnesses believe[d] (down till 1919) to be a matter of embracing the beliefs of these dead men (russell and rutherford).
but jehovah's witnesses embrace[d] the teachings of jesus christ, our living lord.".
"captives of a concept" presents 48 examples where jehovah's witnesses (bible students) did in fact embrace the beliefs of the now dead men russell and rutherford.
damn as soon as qendi broke down exactly what djegnogg does, djegnogg does exactly as quendi wrote. LOL
that is classic
lies are lies, no matter how many words you type son.
djegnogg is so delusional he actually thinks people who read his bullshit buy it. there is no one on this forum other than victims of watchtower mind control, (most of which avoid forums like this) who buys a word of what you write.
clearly you must be counting time, otherwise you are wasting a hell of alot of your life. i pity you.
even worse, you admit you have read both books, if you have read both books and you still havent woken up, you are simply a fool.

call to action.
bad publicity is a proven effective method to decrease recruitment and encourage current members to think/leave.
done. hope it works.
are baptized jehovah's witnesses allowed to go to a catholic priest's funeral?.
would elders allow this?
(without them being reproved)?.
LOL @ "I'm not a Jehovah's Witness myself"
ok, and im richard nixon
this has been asked before, however i thought it may be good for newer members of the board to read some of our reasons on how we decided to exit the jw cult and why we decided to do it the way we did.. first off - i have been faded for almost 8 years.
essentially i decided to fade into inactivity and not da because i have elderly jw parents who would shun me if i did get dfed or daed myself.
also- i like keeping open the possibilities that some of my many jw relatives may in time start doubting and have questions and reach out to me in my inactive state.
I havent set foot in a kingdom hall for 3 years, and i never will for any reason. i have no contact with any jw's except one couple who have one foot out the door.
i dont acknowledge their authority and will not return phone calls, answer the door, etc if the elders were ever to try to contact me. i havent da'd because i have no reason to since i dont acknowledge their authority, and do not believe that God (if he exists) holds people accountable for the behavior of an organization because their names might be on the rolls, but their mind and heart are completly against it.
but really its not a one size fits all situation, i think any of the options are good for each person. to each his own.
and please state the general area you live in, if you could.
thank you..
big shock, standfirm is back. here is my spirit inspired, oh sorry, spirit directed prophecy, you will post on this forum, when asked direct questions you will then disapear, and then post on topix how the big bad apostates arent worth your time. then after a while you'll come back again.
my friend, we were all in the exact position you were, you have doubts in the back of your mind, so you post on apostate message boards in direct violation of faithful slave council.
your scared, scared you just wasted years of your life on a lie, and you will do anything to try to fight that realilty.
let go, admit the truth, give in to your doubts, the truth is what you fear it is, that the watchtower is lying and is another in a long list of false religions.
yes it sucks at first, but it gets better, then once you are free and the dust settles, you are free, and there is nothing more precious than the freedom from the watchtower.
good luck.
