what is supposedly resurrected at resurrection?

this is an idea that really freaked me out when i was still "in".

i asked it several times in groups of friends, and i would get two reactions: confusion/not understanding, and silence/looking at the ground.

if you die, and your body disinegrates, and the soul doesnt live on; in fact, nothing lives on, then what is resurrected?

SO do JW's believe that when you are "resurrected" that you are resurrected in the state of mind that you died in . Meaning, will they recognize their loved ones, their kids, grand parents?

Do the witnesses really believe that they will be the only ones who will be "resurrected"?

VoidEater – I was wondering that myself. Im not sure if I would have married him so quickly if I knew he would go back.

We got into a heated discussion last night, I was like I am NOT going to the Kingdom Hall, he is WHY? Im like, why would I go if I don’t want to be a JW, isn’t that the point of going there? I mean, Im sure Ill go once or twice, but that will probably be the most I can stomach without busting out laughing. He kept asking what do I have against witnesses, im like look, yall go to church too much, he says, so god isn’t worth your time .. LMAO … It has become comical.

Thanks drew sagan for the welcome – I know, I need to get my game up LOL .. He really believes what they stand for .. Gopher - yes my son is 2. But I think growing up in a mixed household will give him more of an option. His dad will take him , you know I cant control everything, but he will know that he always has a choice no matter what anyone says ? My husband did say last night that it was his responsibility to lead our son , so he asks me what would I do if he read our son the bible, I said, I don’t care, I don’t have a problem with the bible, but he said, but you have a problem with the publications, and I said Yup .. he kind of left it at that. I think he is in shock with me right now. My defense mechanism when I feel like Im getting attacked is that I get real nonchalant and cavalier attitude and he doesn’t knw how to take it, lol.. its quite funny. I haven’t hit him with the hardcore things yet. Only because I don’t feel like Ive been pushed.

I told him that I don’t think Satan runs the world because, God is more powerful than Satan, and if Satan is running this world that means that God is allowing it to be that way. He looked so furious LOL.. We got into a discussion about how I think that people have to go through things in life, OMG, he was about to bust , LOL ,.. my rationale is that people are imperfect, so they are going to make mistakes and go through pain because of them, that’s the realization of being human . I shouldn’t be laughing. But his reaction to some things is ridiculous!

Feenx – No I was never a witness, I grew up around too many and saw them either kicked out of the house for not getting baptized , turning into hoochies , I mean going totally to the left LOL. Most of the ones that I ran into in my whole life were zombies, so I was never interested in joining. And there is really nothing anyone can say to convince me otherwise. Plus I don’t feel like Im missing out on something, and I don’t feel like there is a void in me that a mind controlling group can fill .. LOL .. That is why I look past all the JW stuff and look at the man I fell in love with cuz if I don’t, our marriage wouldn’t last. And he was DF’d for fornication back when he was single which I think was like 7 years ago ..

Gopher – Sometimes I feel that way too . But I gotta be strong for my son because I will NOT have him raised up in that foolishness .

Thanks for the welcome TheFlippers ! Everytime Im on this board I feel way stronger when I go home LOL .. when he goes to KH and he comes home, I don’t ask him, how was it, or did he enjoy it, I wont talk to him about it, he just goes on these rampages sometimes that make me want to toss myself out of a moving car. He always says, Im following the bible.Not a religion, so I say why join a religion, he says I believe they have the truth. Im like, oh okay , LOL.

I figure myself to be a very good person, I might drink too many beers here and there, LOL but Im faithful Kind and loving, and kinda funny … to think I will get “destroyed” for not going to church 3 days a week and then going door to door is sad.

See he hasn’t gotten , what I consider condescending or belligerent with me as of yet, that’s why I haven’t gotten “ignorant” with him.

I really thought I would be able to handle this, but sometimes I get so sad because it is causing a separation between us ( His answer , it doesn’t have to , you can come with me, and if you have any questions you can ask a sister or brother – My answer, no I cant LOL – If I LOVE you and don’t believe you, what makes you think Im gonna listen to someone who is just trying to convert me into a puppet)

Anyhoo. Another reason it is so sad to me is because, he is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met, I mean he knows a little bit about everything. So wise , so funny, but also so paranoid, LOL. He says Gods feelings are hurt personally because he wasn’t going to the KH .. *sigh*

Sorry for the vent, this is becoming real emotionally draining for me ya know …

He also doesn’t go on Tuesdays he goes on Mondays – I think he goes to a cong that has merged and has a Spanish cong or something … Because I thought it was Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday’s .

I dont know what to do .. I get so lonely sometimes, but I am not giving in and going to that damn KH LOL

I generally believe most religions are the same. But my mother is one of those screaming hooping and hollaring, if I give my last 5 dollars I will become rich Creflo Dollar followers. ANd I believe that movement is lunacy as well

But when my mom and husband are around each other for a while LOL .. It is Hilarious!!!

I was thinking that I definitely have to get another car because I was like I’m gonna find myself a hobby. I will be damned if I am gonna just be at home just me and my son while he is washing his brain (got that from a dr phil show… hilarious)

And I keep telling myself that I am going to keep my calm and just be like, Okay and smile, nod my head and not get so emotional because after I flip out it just looks like they are right and that everyone is against them.

I like the way you think garybuss . So if he is like , you want to do a study, I should be like no thanks? He brought me some book about revelations.. Im like why all yall focus on is the end of the world, how about living for now? And the pleasures you have today? I mean he about passed out when I started putting money into a 401 (k) plan.

He isn’t reinstated yet, so I guess he might be celebrating xmas , but if he doesn’t, Im going to take my Pagan 800 bucks from my in laws and shop my butt off … Shame on me LMAO .. My marriage is very important to me , but so is my piece of mind, I would like to remain sane .. and my son a non witness .. soooo ..

I remember one time he was talking about when he was a witness in good standing and he was like I was in charge of the audio system .. with this big ol proud smile on his face, im like, wow , is that a big deal or something ???
