25, male, married, soon-to-be dad, living in the southern US right now. I'm not quite sure what my status with the borg is... don't really care either. My work allows me to surf the net pretty much all day long, I stumbled across another exJW board last year and have made many new ifriends, which in turn leads me here.
it seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?
for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .

First of all I don't agree with your wording. The "truth" is definitely not the truth.
Second, I was born into it. My mother started being a JW about 6 yrs before I came along.

I'm with Joel on this one, if you feel the need to discuss the spiritual side or are forced into it, then keep it to questions.
Was it Socrates that taught the best way to argue a point is to ask questions? I think it was. Anyway it really doesn't matter who said it, just use it and I'm sure you'll gain some headway. Do not expect anything to happen... simply prove, by your actions, to them that the WTBTS teachings about us "apostates" is wrong.

JT actually my story isn't all that great. Born and raised in this cult. I always had doubts and both my brother and sister had been out for years, so I had back up. After I left, my mother chose the path of enlightenment :) and left the evil borg. Haven't looked back and enjoyed my life since then. I've been hanging out over at another board for the past year or so and decided to come over and check this one out.
Looking forward to visiting this place more often. Cheers! :)

Hey I'm new to this board, so please excuse me if I'm posting out of line. Danny boy, if you really want to be a JW, then knock yourself out, have a good time and all that garbage. You've gotten input from people here that have been through it all, take their advice or not it really doesn't matter to me.
However, I beleive that you aren't really looking to be a JW, I think you are a troll. You come in a stir shit up just to please yourself. If you are such a moron that you cannot find a KH in Houston then you honestly desrve to be a JW. Its seems that this (being a JW) is not really on your agenda.
To whom ever it was that posted about studing with the JWs to gain insight into you they really are; you are even a larger moron than Danny here. There you would experience even more of a bias than here.
