by mrsjones5 inon my last topic i talking about how mean and harassing my parents were being and how i had to change the deadbolt on my front door to keep my father out.
well the update is my father didn't carry out his threat.
he never showed and has ceased calling.

Josie, I'm glad that everything has calmed down -- even if turns out to be just for the moment.
And truth be told, Gary's viewpoint has much to recommend - at least for minor children.
It's a cult. It's dangerous. If JW relatives can't leave the poison at home, you may have to leave them alone.

he was from all accounts rude, arrogant and i believe he would have sacrificed witness children an an altar if he thought it would help the "mother" organisation as he called it.
he is the ultimate brainwashed freak who would step on brothers knecks just to make sure things are "theocratic.

One of the Governing Body had a stroke yesterday

Dan began to talk about how he knew Jehovahhhhh Godddd through his Holy Spirit was with elders in judicial hearings. He was sharing a story of how well a certain "sister's" problems were handled by the elders even though her life was in turmoil and she was in and out of judicial hearings. It was, he said, because Holy Spirit was there to help the brothers and as he continued to extol the virtues of judicial hearings, he began to change. It was while he was saying he could actually feel the presence of the Holy Spirit at this woman's hearing, he seemed to slip off into an outer-worldly thingy experience or something. His voice became different. Hard to describe what we saw and heard. At the time, I thought of the Apostle Paul and the 7th heaven experience.
All five of us sat there listening and staring at him for what seemed to be an eternity, but really only minutes, when his wife Marina said (I kid you not): "God damn it, Sydlik, stop that; get off your high horse and come back down to earth." He blinked a few times and returned back to normal. If that wasn't the strangest thing for the five of us to observe. Then we all mentally shook ourselves and continued on with conversation like nothing happened.
Barb, to me, that experience sounds anything but holy -- especially when you take into consideration the various unscriptural beliefs that the WTS has espoused.

by Sweet Honey ini was 15 years old i'm forty now ,but my whole family were jw i got pregnant my mom made me keep my son which i am thankful for i had to have that stupid meeting with the elders and i was not even baptized this was in the mid 80's they ask you so many ?
its like their getting off i refused to answer their ?
so i was dissociated from the congregation i went to meetings until i gave birth to my son then i refused to go my mom told me she would help me no matter what then the elders and my brothers one still is a jw we really don't speak we are like strangers told her that she could not condone me not going to the meetings to make matters worse she moved out from the home we were living in and left me and my son there and they took me to court and evicted me from her home i had no where to go with my son i found a place after all that and didn't speak to my mom for 6 years .

Will I take pleasure in the fact that an old man is going the way of all flesh? No.
If he were being punished by secular courts, I would revel. But he's not.
The most that I can say is that I wish he had been a better man. The possibilities of goodness and righteousness that were discarded so long ago; that is what I'll mourn.
The entire GB could all die tomorrow, and it wouldn't change a thing. As long as there are power-hungry men and gullible innocents, the carnival will continue.
The best revenge would be to sound the alarm. Keep the unwary from falling for the Society's lies.
