We use phone tie in all the time, we are inactive. We do not give our name, tho everyone is asked at end of meet to get a 'head count' Usually the infirm will chat a minute or two, the brother in charge now is so kind and loving asking how everyone is and such. When we join in that part he gets quiet. The infirm ones chat with us, we are the only ones that visit them, and used to drive a couple to meetings. We have been called and asked to 'quit using phone tie in as personal visitation time' . Which i found odd since everyone calls in early in order to chat a bit before meetings. And of course we are regularly admonished it is not the same as 'real meeting attendance'. When my husband was in charge of sound, he figured a way to adjust connection to KH sound so one could 'answer a question or read a scripture' during WT study. It had to be arranged ahead of time with caller, at a specific paragragh and such since when caller did that he could not hear us, the sound had to be put back to normal first. It was so exciting for the callers to particiapate! They do not do that now. pity...

she specifically said they won't ask for my name or phone number or record my information from the call.

I get a little money from my dad for medical prob, here comes elders telling my hubby to 'make me' donate it to buy new chairs for hall. (which i did) Dad sends more money, they come and want to 'borrow' it interest free of course to buy MS a new car. (we are driving a 16 year old clunker with no heat or ac at the time) He still has not paid a large part of the money back. (i just realize it has been 18 years!) That bro will not talk to us cause we 'ruined his reputation' by turning him in to CO. Anyway, my husband and I got it together. Next time they wanted something, (yeah it was money from my Mom's death) Here they come, and I say no and they tell my husband to 'control your wife'. He said (i am so proud) 'the bible talks about self control, not wife control' they say I am disrespectful his headship. Hubby tells them 'i am satisfied with my wife as regards to my headship, if you are not i do not care, you have no right to question my dealings with my wife, i am the head and that is my final say on the matter, she said no, and i say good day'. They told him he was 'brainwashed' he retorted 'funnyt, i was told that when i became a witness too.' Over was the years of abuse at the hands of the elders who would merely cll up my husband to curry favors from me to prove he was 'presiding over house in fine manner' by keeping me under his thumb. My husband has never been advanced to MS as a result. But we have a good marriage. (30 years). Now we are slowly fading, not entirely by choice,,,but that is another story.

Memorial lesson in futility....

I was freaked out one year, saw elder wife pouring the wine back into bottle to take home.
One year saw an elder drink the wine afterward saying 'waste not want not'
The first year we missed, we did the emblems at home and took wine outside and poured into the ground, we thought that was most respectful. Though we did drink what was left in bottle.
We left the broken bread out for the birds.

Elders want to visit after memorial !!
by lancelink inwell, i attended the memorial last night, and since i have been inactive for some time two of the elders came up to me afterwards.
they want to get together and discuss how to get me active again.
since i am going thru some withdrawal pains, i spinelessly agreed to talk with them this friday evening.

I wish my elders would talk to me, but I usually use the bible on them and they do not like it. They say I have no tact. Why should I waste tact on elders, they are big boys, they can take the truth. They say they don't want to get into 'battle of the scriptures with me'. I thought the bible was the final rule. I always hand them the bible and say 'if you show it to me in the rule book, then i cannot argue it' . Oh and as for the dreaded 'God's organization' question... I always say 'yes, as long as they obey the bible'. They always ask me again, so I say; 'YES AS LONG AS THEY OBEY THE BIBLE'. I think they are hard of hearing.

Memorial invitations didn't work in my congo. Did they work in yours?
by outofthebox inso, the people in my congo expended hours and hours distributing the invitations, but the attendance was the same as always (actually a little less than other years).

I recieved one from my 'sister' 1100 miles away. My cong. did not give me one. (poor little inactive me) I called elder for ride. Was told I have to prove I want to be re-activated. ( car is not working, 5 miles from hall, it was snowing, i can hardly walk) So I listened on phone tie in and was told that is not really trying. No, but they are really trying,,, my patience.

I have thought that 'infiltraitors' have been in for a long time. After all 'the world' is against God's people, it would make sense to attack within. But, God is God, and truth is truth i believe and no person or 'organization' will prove otherwise. (now you know shy elders are so peeved at me and i am inactive) Hey, i have faith, just not in people.

Wow, they did not even ask you if you wanted to repent? I thought that was what they were supposed to do? Also, they cannot DF you by proxy, dang. I would love to say I don't believe it, but I am afraid something similar is about to happen to us. Different yet similar circumstances. Anyway, I would much rather answer to Jehovah for my pitiful sins then to be those elders having to answer for their treatment of you. Peace to you Lady Liberty, and continue your intensive research. I believe the Truth of Jehovah will stand, it is those who warp it that will fall, even if those involve,,dare I say it?...the Watchtower Society. It is not apostate of me to say that, it is just so according to the Bible. Well, you can see why I am facing trouble. Just to give you a glimpse,one of the last time any elders bothered to really call on me, they showed me the scripture 'be obedient to those taking the lead among you' to which I took the Bible turned it around and handed it back to the elder and said 'I cannot be obedient to those who are not being obedient to the One (Jesus Christ) who takes the lead before us all.' He slapped the Bible out of my hand. Then I said, 'you know Jesus did not browbeat people into obedience, He merely said "follow me" and continued on His way in service to His Father. Others either followed or did not.' Well after giving what seemed to be the equivelant of 25 hail mary's he left. Does not even acknowledge my existence, won't speak to me. Told me he used to be at Bethel so he knows better to which I replied 'yes I thought you would know better, but satan was in Heaven at one time, and he did not seem to know better.' Other elders told me to learn my place, learn quietly, you know being a woman and all. Well if only those with a penis are allowed to talk, I told my husband I should get me a dildo to hold up when I talk to the elders!! But I digress.
