It looks like I will become an elder this week!

That's right guys. As I told you before, they BOE have been considering me for the eldership. Which I don't care for, but since my family is stuck in this cult, I guess I can use the new position to help them see that the Holy Spirit has nothing to do with me being an elder.

This week I got a couple of hints from the BOE. So, it looks like it is going to happen.

So far ...

I faked my hours
I have celebrated my first birthday
I have been writing in this forum
I have been reading "apostate" literature
I have been showing the hard truths to my family and several elders
I don't comment in the meetings, unless is from the Bible
I don't close my eyes in the prayers or agree to them with an "amen"
I have talked to disfellowshipped people
I am swearing a little
And I don't believe for a second the JW are the true religion

Do you think the Holy Spirit will notice that I am not a worthy candidate to become an elder? Will I become an elder anyway? Stay tuned

Well keep us posted, I could never stomach anything like that, but we need some "double agents" on the inside to help us with those still stuck in the crux of it all.

I hope if there is a Holy Spirit, I hope it uses your new position to help the flood away from the Tower of Hell. And um, congratulations? This would have been a cause for a "get together" not too long ago.

If true this post saddens me, :( People from children upwards look upto elders and it's a position of trust and you do it lightly just to get back at JW's and show them up?

People condemn bad elders on here a lot but aren't you becoming what you despise by going into it without thought of those in the congregations from the young to the very old, I would have thought simple humanity would stop you becoming an elder as a "joke"? maybe you consider it meaningless but genuine caring people in congregation could be badly hurt.

" Two wrongs don't make a right" if you don't believe in JW's better to stand up and be honest, deception and lies won't do you any good either.

If you consider JW's a bad thing then do something honest this twistedness proves only that you are as bad as what you despise possibly worse because you are thinking only of yourself and not of others that look upto you inc your family that are still JW's.

Maybe I sound harsh but even as an Ex-JW I find this sort of thing repugnant :(
