Good post.
Thats exactly what would happen. I should have clarfied that I don't think you could get all or even most of the membership to do it, but 100,000 or so radical dedicated fanatics (we all know a few) coudl do a lot of damage.
i asked the three elders who disfelowshipped me this question.. basically, they replied, "the society would never tell them to do that".
thats not my question.
if they told you to, would you?.

I was thinking that refusing a blood transfusion for yourself or your child would be the same principal

i couldn't find them.. this morning i awoke determined to find them.
hi guys, i'm new to the forum :) i'm a worldly girl and got a friend who is a jw so im quite interested to hear from all of you :) also how did you're worldly friends compare to your jw friends.
thanx in advance x.
I was a JW for 50 years. I left because of all the inconsistancies, flip flops and contradcitions in the lit.
The Society would change something and the sheeple would blindly follow. The final thing for me was the editing of the literature in an effort to hide changes from new Witnesses.
For example I have an extensive library that I got from my Witness grandmother and have all the lit from the Mid thirties on and a lot from earlier times. I have the Beth Sarim 1925 stuff in print in authentic literature, Rutherfords Drunken ravings. I can't believe they do not mention that any more.
Also, I have the original Truth biik I got in 1968. It has been changed in several places where it originally pointed to 1975. Also, I have a 1989 Watchtower that says the preaching work would end in "this century". The CD of the same WT says it would end "in our day"
Way toooo much to mention here, I am not influenced by "worldly friends" now or then. The Watchtower hangs themselves.
ever want to speak to them , i was only a study but i thought it very odd and judgemental to not even look at them and i used to think what are they so scared of if they have the truth , i did not buy the satan stuff about them at all , cult , was what sprung to mind and started my doubts
Was that a Dodger Stadium? I lived in So Cal for a while in the late 70's and they were always at the assemblys. i went to the assembly hall in Norco and they were there too.
Also, in South Florida in the early 70's.
I seem to remember the blimp, but I had small kids and it was so blistering hot that we kept them in the cooler hallway. I tried not to go outside.
i was at work in my office as my boss jokingly calls it.a lady walk in to get 2 tires she had ordered put on.i have her sit down to wait because all of my bays were full.i noticed she was reading a small paper bound book.she was underlining it as she read.i got the feeling she may be a jw.i wanted to ask her but i didn't.my number one job at work is to make customers feel comfertable and i thought telling her i'm a raging apostate might make her feel uncomfertable being in the same room with me.. when she opened her walet to give me her visa card i saw the blood card.it confirmed my suspitions of her.. you will be happy to know i got my apostate cooties all over her service car and visa card..
My standard apostate curse is "May Catholic weasels, in little Pope hats, gnaw your flesh"
it seems that many jehovah's witnesses are not so sure about "the truth".
from this and other website/discussion groups and from my own experience a lot of witnesses are having major doubts, but seem to be hanging in the organization, probably because of the disfellowshipping thing.
i hope the bethelite that came up with that got a big bonus.. .
Most Witnesses have as much access to computers and the internet as the average person. Learnign how to use a computer is not that difficult and most school kids have been taught the basics for the last 10 years.
You can also get access in any library, your friends house, lots of places.
As a kid in the 50's and 60's, I had the best collection of nudie magazines in the neighborhood. I kept them in a tree house way at the back of our property. In fact, I stole most of them, as usually the store would not sell to a kid.
People will find a way.

Since I was DF'd, I have maintained contact with several local Witnesses who "secretly" talk to me and email me about things going on in the various congregations. Most of these JW's frequent "apostate sites" and are amazed by the contradictions and edits in the Watchtower literature.
I always maintain that the problem with the Witness is not theological, i.e. id there a trinity? do we have a soul? As a deist, I don't really care. You don't have to go any further than their own literature and the contradictions, edits and flip flops there in.
The internet with all the info available must scare the s**t out of the Watchtower Society and the GB.
There are posters here who are still in the Witnesses, even Elders. I am assuming for the most part we are not being BS'd. From what an average Witness can read from the CD and in their own literature, the Society hangs itself.
It may be starting to snowball.
i don't think everyone in the organization is clear on the new understanding of the 1914 generation.
i asked four witnesses about this and how they now understood the 1914 generation and none of them were aware of the new understanding!
as a disfellowshipped apostate, many witnesses still talk to me on me regular basis and a lot are "loosing their religion".

For clarification the "Old understanding":

"However, there are people still living who were alive in 1914 and saw what was happening then and who were old enough that they still remember those events. This generation is getting up in years now. A great number of them have already passed away in death. Yet Jesus very pointedly said: “This generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.” Some of them will still be alive to see the end of this wicked system. This means that only a short time is left before the end comes! (Ps. 90:10) So now is the time to take urgent action if you do not want to be swept away with this wicked system."

12 Therefore, in the final fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy today, “this generation” apparently refers to the peoples of earth who see the sign of Christ’s presence but fail to mend their ways. In contrast, we as Jesus’ disciples refuse to be molded by the life-style of “this generation.” Though in the world, we must be no part of it, “for the
