just curious.... did the disallusionment of j.w.

experience make you hate god or disbelieve everything about god?

could it be god's grace that kept you from or freed you from their hold on you?

Ditto what the previous two posters said. I went through stages -- investigated other religions, and decided I couldn't swallow them, and moved toward agnosticism based on several serious questions I have about what kind of God would create a world where so much hurt could come to so many innocent people, and yet people who claim to represent him often get great wealth at others' expense.
Atheism simply means one personally doesn't believe there's enough evidence for a deity such as has been described or invented by mankind. It doesn't have to be dogmatic or say that there can be no god, but atheism just states that on balance there isn't enough convincing evidence for such a being.
The JW's turned me off to religion. Investigation and contemplation made me agnostic and then atheist.

Even posting on this board is an enjoyable thing in my life, maybe one of the best (seeing how it helped me when I was first separating myself mentally from the Borg). But it took time to make even a short post like Lisa made. And your time is worth something. But I have time to spend. However as I sometimes say, I'm so poor that sometimes I can't even pay attention!

Thanks for the breakdown. The mindless assault on "apostates" by the WTS continues ad nauseum.
Bizarrely, par19 makes this weird statement;

"When faced with trials or apostate ideas or when carrying out challenging assignments, God's loyal ones can be confident of Jehovah's guidance and support."
WTF?
Apostate ideas are like some overwhelming trial? Give me a (long coffee) break. Are apostate ideas so strong that po-widdle rank-and-file JW's just cannot cope?
If the WTS teachings were really the truth, they'd have nothing of which to be scared.
But they are scared, to the point of irrational paranoia, as this article seems to clearly show.

Do we all have Nephilim Blood?

so they say that in the "beginning of the ages" there was a lot of in-breeding because the bloodlines were 'more pure'.. when the nephilim came down and mated with the females, even after the flood, does this mean the bloodlines would have been 'more pure' as far as 50-50 nephilim dna?

or maybe even a stronger concentration of nephilim than human...maybe 80-20%?

Nephilim seems to be a generic term. While the word Nephilim of Numbers 13:33 mean giants, as the word Nephilim in Genesis referred to the giants before the Flood, the two groups of giants (Nephilim) are not the same.

One of the best things in my life was a walk along Florida's Gulf Coast at sunset.
That in itself would be free. But to get there and back would cost me at least $200 in airfare, then add in the cost of dinner so that I wouldn't be starving while walking on the beach. And there are other costs I haven't itemized here.
You get the idea. It's free once I get there.

my favorite time of year is fall.

(in the southern hemisphere it's just turning to spring).

the angle of the sunlight, the turning of the leaves...so many subtle things, love it.

It's one of my two favorite months of the year -- next to the month of May.
The refreshing coolness in the air is great -- you can just crack open a window and it feels fine. No heating or cooling necessary.
And later this month we can go north and see the fall colors start to appear -- it's especially beautiful near lakes or in river valleys.

keeping a straight face during the song is hard enough given the wacky lyrical content; the last thing i need is the "new sister" standing right behind me and loudly delivering a breathy, lispy, over-dramatic rendition of "stay asleep stand firm grow culty".

simon cowell is not listening in.

or how about that one guy every hall has who bawls the songs out, painfully out of tune, way louder than anyone else.

Are you saying that you want other singers to be as dull, boring, and uninspired as you apparently are?
Some folks at the hall stand out because they want to appear more whole-hearted in their singing than others are.

So a girl can get pregnant merely by interviewing or talking to a boy about sex??
