Armageddon ain't happenin'.
Every generation since it was written has had people use Revelation as a scare tactic. I'm not surprised it's still happening in the 21st century.
will lack of religious affiliation with a church be the determining factor in declaring one as an "anti-christ"?
if you are not a baptised, signed up, tithing church member somewhere....will this be the dividing line?.
will church membership be the sole criteria of "godliness" in this battle of armageddon?.

Menemene -- that is really hilarious! "I love Jesus, but I drink a little." LOL
they didn't arrive on time at the ark.. can't remember where i read it?.
The dinosaurs were killed off millions of years before the arrival of homo sapiens.

Actually, some Christians have reduced themselves to defending the notion that dinosaurs were on Noah's ark. REALLY, I kid you not.

Did Noah take dinosaurs on the Ark? (part II)
The Ark had plenty of room for all the animals, including the dinosaurs. It was carefully built to fulfill the needs of each passenger as they rested in safety during the great Flood. Many of the animals may have slept through most of the trip.
Noah did not have to go out and find the animals. God brought each one. This probably included a young pair of each main type of dinosaur. Perhaps God just included the basic types of dinosaurs He first created; not every variety that had developed since Creation.
Young dinosaurs would be small and easier to care for and would use less food. It would have been foolish to fill up space on the Ark with the oldest, biggest adults.
Min,
Ever listen to Stephanie Miller's radio show? She's the former stand-up comedienne and TV host who does a funny, smart progressive talk show. The callers to her show have to keep their comments brief and witty. They don't fit the 'clueless caller' stereotype.
Her show airs weekdays at 9-noon eastern time, and if you don't have a local station carrying it you can stream it at http://www.stephaniemiller.com/listenlive.php

The Jewish talent (a denomination of money) seems to have equaled 3,000 shekels. That would be approximately $1500 (US).
or, less simply stated (asked, actually): did you get here by creation or evolution?
i mean you personally.
there are some lovely books on the subject, but i trust your gut feeling more than i do a certain book-publishing-empire-posing-as-a-religion-that-shall-remain-nameless-but-its-initials-are-xxx&xx and, of late, has been accused of scholastic dishonesty!
Did I get here by evolution or by creation?
I got here by birth from my parents!
Evolution happens all the time, and has been happening for eons. The fossil record has thrown a lot of light on that.
A "Creator" is a matter of belief. It's fine to believe in a sky-daddy, I just don't want people to push their version of sky-daddy on me or on kids in our taxpayer-supported schools.
honor jehovah by displaying dignity .
this ten-year old has quickly learned that dignity is only the outward appearance.
why, though, can humans act with dignity?
Thanks for another exposition, Blondie.
I absolutely knew they'd use this subject to push the ministry. They can take ANY word in the Bible and draw a connecting line to their literature-peddling work. I kept waiting for it, and then finally came this in paragraph 12:
Meditating on God's wonderful works should strengthen our relationship with Jehovah and motivate us to tell others about him with enthusiasm and determination. Are you zealously declaring the good news and helping people to appreciate the dignity, splendor, and majesty of Jehovah God?
Do they really believe what they stated in paragraph 16?
One way is by appreciating that all humans-regardless of status, health, or age-deserve due honor and respect.
The WTS has breathed of anger and contempt towards humans of whom they do not approve. And especially do they NOT treat disfellowshipped people with dignity and respect.
I try not to get angry when reading some of this, but this one really got to me.
Prior to my grandmother's recent memorial service, during that time of grief, my sister and I (DA'd and DF'd from JW's) were told we shouldn't come to the reception after the service, because the JW's there would be uncomfortable.
"Respect?" My foot.
i've heard whispered tales that some daring souls actually do do that.
yes, eat dessert first.
typically, for us middle earth ethnics, the antepasto* is the first course.
"Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first." -- Ernestine Ulmer (American writer b. 1925)
during the debate last night, obama and mccain both promised to stop the negative advertisements and to concentrate on the issues.. no sooner had the words came out of mccain's mouth when mccain and palin began sponsoring automated phone calls in key states informing voters of obama's connection with bill ayers, a terrorist.
it is the nastiest sort of phone call meant to sway voters done in a underhanded way, supposedly secretive manner.
really disgusting.. pundits have said that if mccain loses he can at least leave the race with his dignity.
Thanks for posting the news item. I hadn't heard that.
I don't think this kind of sh*tty campaigning will convert very many undecided voters. It's sad really, the depths that McCain has let his campaign get to. I thought he was a better man than this.
