the more i studied, the more i got sucked into being a witness, the more depressed i've become.
i don't want to do anything anymore, i mean what is the sense: the end of days is upon us!
the more i became involved with witnesses, the more i felt that i was loosing a part of myself.
Butalbee,
Wow what a heart-wrenching situation! Wishing the best for you. A couple thoughts.
Like my mom said (and maybe your mom too), in a situation where your heart is in a battle with your head, let the side with the "Brains" win. I noticed in your last post two phrases, one about your friend-- "he FEELS" - and one about you "I KNOW". Which should carry greater weight, the knowledge or the feeling? The answer is hard, but ....
My second thought is related to your last quote "I hope what I am doing is right." Last year I left the JW's, actually was forced out, and also lost my marriage (and have a beautiful 3 year old daughter) under a barrage of false accusations. It was SOOO hard to let go. The future is uncertain, but my hope for people like me and you (who have let our THOUGHTS win out over our feelings) is that we keep a positive attitude, keep working on our personality, and soon the love that we need will find its way into our life--- all in due time.

i have read on their website that then are a noncreed religion, and welcome all sorts of views and that they encourage their members to be active in community and charities, etc,.
what do you guys know about this church?
i was thinking about checking one of the churches out around here.
Thanks Larc, GF, and Eyebrow for your thoughtful replies. Happy holidays to all.

This does sound like a totally non-threatening environment.
Your post raises a point of curiosity for me, having been out of the Borg for over a year and not joining up with any new church group.
As ex-JW's, we're painfully aware of the weaknesses of religious organizations per se, and are aware that all have their faults and foibles. With that being said, what is the appeal about joining any religious body? Is it for the fellowship? Is it about a search for deeper spiritual meaning? I am sincerely curious, and not being critical here.

SL/Bill,
Very excellent! You appealed to their good nature, rather than accusing. And you helped highlight how ACTION will gain the respect of the flock and the general public.
It's sad that they will probably distrust the motive of the letter, or remain in a state of SUSPENDED ANIMATION while more innocent people suffer. After all, to enact changes, don't they need a 2/3 vote? The resistance to change is palpable, and will only serve to make them appear to be inflexible and self-serving.
I wish efforts (like this letter) could work, but they usually only serve as documentation of the organization's failure, unfortunately.

sheesh, i stay away for a few weeks, dealing with a personal crisis and what happens?
people all yappin' and scrappin' with each other?
can't i leave you guys alone to play nice?
WASA, LOL
Your title is not PC enough. It should have said "holiday" or "seasonal event" rather than Christmas. You trying to offend non-Christians with your title? Huh? Go back to where you came from. (Trying to start a fake fight.)
Ok Wasa. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!

R51785,
Thanks for the "expose" on the "expos". Oh... same goes for the Minnesota Twins... Been nice to know you! Those 2 world championships were nice in '87 and '91, but oh well....It's more important to pay the marquee players $20 million a year...otherwise, they couldn't survive poor babies. (sorry this disintegrated into a rant)
Disneycuty,
They've been saying "these are the last days" since about 1844 with William Miller and Adventism. They've always been wrong. 100% inaccuracy. Therein lies a clue to your answer.

i went up to the local store and found on sale for $25 a bubble spa.
you soak your feet in warm water and let the thing vibrate your feet with bubbles all around.
aww the comfort!
Thanks for the suggestion, Jayhawk. It sounds like it'd also make a good, last minute x-mas present !!

Hi butalbee. I am really enjoying your to-the-point posts! Don't hold back now, eh?
What is a dub? dub is short for the letter "W", which stands for Witness, as in Jehovah's Witness. Dubbism is the mindset and/or activities of the dubs.

LB and clash city, thanks for your comments!
LB, the reason I posted information about the PAST history of these baseball teams is to show that Major League baseball itself had good, well-supported products in these "minor" markets, and blew it. This rarely happens in other sports. Baseball is unwilling to apply the solutions that other sports have used to keep salaries in line with reality, and to keep teams in medium sized markets, namely true revenue sharing and salary caps. Instead, we have a union-dominated system where a player can command $25.2 million on a last place team. Meanwhile, fiscally responsible teams do not get rewarded.
And it's not about attendance, not entirely. The Twins contended for the AL Central pennant last year, and drew over 1.6 million fans. Geez, what do the owners expect?
Contraction is all about a THREAT by the owners to try to make the players finally accede to THEIR program, in the face of a walkout or lockout to come within a year.
Maybe we in the Twin Cities would be better off without the headache that is major league baseball.
