: Could someone indicate where the WTS actually says that all the first century Christians were anointed... when the "other sheep" class began... and where they claim to see that in scripture, etc.?
I don't have any exact quotes, but I do remember the WTS indicating in its writings that the Greek Scriptures (New Testament) was written to all Christians in the 1st century. The New Testament only specifies the heavenly hope. Therefore the whole congregation could be considered of the anointed class (by which I mean those who were baptized).
The "other sheep" class didn't start in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th century but only started in 1935 according to JW / Rutherfordian doctrine. Yes, somehow only 144,000 people were faithful Christians all through the years until 1935, when the "great multitude" (now called the "great crowd") began to appear. It had to appear, otherwise the number of JW's would soon pass the number their religion said was going to heaven.

Doesnt this scripture completley blow up their dogma?
by Crazyguy inas i have studied the bible more in depth i have noticed that there is no two tiered set of christians.
as we know the jw religion teaches that only the 144k are anointed as the use romans chapter 8 to try to show that gods holyspirit will mix with an individual's spirit and then they will know their anointed.
all others can be christians so to speak and they would have the rank and file believe this anyway.

It appears that Candace Conti has a strong case. However...
by Calebs Airplane ini believe we may all be surprized at the final outcome of this case.... as you may already know, arnold schwarzennegar appointed robert mcguiness as superior court judge in 2005. mcguinness is the judge in the candace conti case.. it is widely known that arnold scharzennegar is a high-ranking freemason with direct ties to the rothschild family (primary shareholders of the watchtower corporation).
judge robert mcguinness comes from a family of powerful and influential irish freemasons who also enjoy strong ties to the rothschild family.. so this could go south very quickly for candace in the next few days.... .

So let me make sure I have this straight....
The Rothschilds & their associates pull all the strings from behind the scenes, and they put people like Aaaah-nold in power and create mystical religions like the JW's to see how much they can control people.
So.... because of their continuing deep interest in having the Watchtower succeed, they are currently working behind the scenes to make sure Candace Conti fails. -

July 2013 WT Sunday ? Who is now the FDS ?
by Legacy incontinue on wt july 2013...a question to all...so, the congregation gets fed spiritual food by the fds (past & now), right?
the great tribulation and beyond.. but the article says, the fds will not come until after the un will attack christendom, jehovah will cut short the attack on false religion; god's people will be saved, then...jesus will judge people of all nations as sheep or goats, then.....jesus will appoint the faithful slave over "all his belongings ....so, have the fds been appointed as of yet & if not who has been given the congregation the spiritual food upto now...i'm confused...no i'm not..i do understand...i think a bunch of guys been feeding us.... i spoke to one of the sisters & she said, that jesus will appoint the slaves & give them additional duties...uh ?
the floor is open...will welcome all thoughts..... legacy.

Correct me if I"m wrong:
FDS - Previously was "the group of those who worthily partook of the emblems and are the remaining anointed Christians on earth", now is "The Governing Body".
Domestics - Curiously, this was previously considered to be "all individuals who worthily partook of the emblems and are remaining anointed Christians on earth" (e.g. the Faithful Slave was the anointed as a group and the Domestics were the anointed as individuals). Now the domestics are considered all JW's in good standing.
Belongings - Previously were considered the earthly things of which the FDS had oversight, now it also includes the heavenly Kingdom.
Here's the fallout:FDS - They cleared up this doctrine by reducing the membership to just the men at Watchtower headquarters. I had seen middle-aged men and women claim to be of the faithful slave and act like they had special knowledge to impart to other people in the congregation, and had seen certain congregation members act like they were so privileged to have one of the anointed honor them with their presence and wisdom.
Domestics - This new explanation actually makes more sense than the old one (that the domestics was the same people as the FDS, but just as individuals and not as a group). This was always my secret understanding anyway.
I remember back in the 1970's when our circuit overseer (Ray Harriman) told us that even though the then-current explanation about the domestics didn't make sense, we had to believe it because those anointed men who led us had special knowledge from Jehovah. Well I guess that wasn't really the case. -

Thanks Caliber, that is what I thought. All the years I was in, they lorded their supposedly Christ-given authority as the faithful slave over us, and we had to respect that.
This kind of stuff would really frustrate me if I think about it much -- the slavery I was in to these guys who governed on-the-fly and made stuff up as they went, claiming you'd better be loyal and obedient or else!!
Label Licker -- I have a hard time thinking the Watchtower leaders will stand by anything they've been saying. They change their doctrines more often than any other religion known to humankind. It's like a big shell game - their hand moves faster than the eye. -

The idea that the early Christians had one governing body overseeing a preaching work is just as unlikely as the idea that Jesus made a "pope" out of the apostle Peter. But what would religion be without a little historical revisionism?

My memory about Watchtower doctrine is a little hazy. Didn't they used to say that Christ did an inspection in 1919 to see whom he could trust as a "slave class" to give out spiritual food?
Are they now saying NOTHING at all happened in 1919? If so, that would be one further de-linking of their body of teaching from the year 1914. And that would be very sly. (I think they really want to lost 1914 from their doctrine but don't know how.)

The Watchtower world is like a revolving door. People come in, they shuffle out. Their leadership really seems not to care how many JW's they keep around. They only care that they have a growing number who kowtow to them.

I had NO idea about the letter to Hitler......
by Flg8ter inthis was brand new to me........did some research, like we're not supposed to do ;) and dug up crazy stuff that i had no idea about.
my whole life we were taught have bad and evil "christendom" was for trying to pacify hiter during his rise to power, and how different we were for standing up to him!.
then i found about the letter dated june 25,1933 from rutherford and his writting team to hiter.

From what I know, Rutherford already knew Hitler was leading a potentially dangerous regime. My estimation is that he wrote the Declaration of Facts and the letter to Hitler out of fear, to try to get on his good side. They didn't try to cozy up to any other national leader to my knowledge.
Rutherford and his writers were full of crap when they wrote that the German Reich had high ethical goals and ideals. As mentioned before, Mein Kampf was already published and laid out Hitler's ideology for all to see.
When Hitler's regime didn't respond well to the Watchtower's attempted courtship, only then did Rutherford turn 180 degrees and send Hitler a threatening letter saying not to touch the Witnesses or else Jehovah would get him. Hitler didn't take kindly to that and shouted that he wanted the brood of JW's exterminated.
Rutherford was promising his followers a 1000-year rule of God's Kingdom, whereas Hitler was promising HIS followers a 1000-year reich. The two ideologically opposed movements came to loggerheads, and Hitler did what he could to exterminate thousands of JW's in central Europe for the next decade.
The JW's suffering under the Nazi regime was only exacerbated by Rutherford's arrogance and needless confrontation with the world's most evil man. -

MIN - The first time we had an apostofest in Minnesota, about a dozen of us met in a Minneapolis neighborhood bar. We had planned to stay only an hour or 90 minutes, but we had so much fun talking (and drinking) that we stayed until midnight!
Hopefully the time will fly by at your daughter's apostafest too! -

I really wish religions were taxed. When they buy real estate they have such an advantage over taxpaying corporations.
