I find this video interesting since I have two immediate family members who have tried to commit suicide they are both JW's one is not involved for the last year and the other if you can believe is an Elder right now. This discusses how the JW religion causes depression from a doctors viewpoint who used to be a JW also. I just have always thought that the religion causes depression since a completely different family member has suffered from depression in my family also. Not me I feel free since I am away from it all.

I use round steak when I make it in my food dehydrator. I just pick out a steak and have someone in the meat department cut it for me. I just tell them to cut it as thin as possible. When I've tried to cut it at home I do a terrible job and get really thick pieces and then thin ones and it just doesn't work out. I've thought of getting a meat slicer but not sure how that would work out. I think round steak has the lowest fat so that's why it's good. You also want to cut off any fat that is on there because the fat goes rancid and tastes bad. We eat it all up pretty fast though.
Recipe: Marinade over night with
10oz Kikkoman Teriyaki
10oz water
1 tbs liquid smoke
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
6 tsp catsup
red pepper seeds if desired sprinkle them on the jerky before it goes into the oven your mouth will be on fire.
I just use my dehydrator but my brother gave me this recipe and he makes it in the oven and his directions say to make on cookie sheets
Drain and rotate and dry cookie sheets while baking
Also red meat can be bad for you yes. My dad can't eat it anymore because he has high cholesterol. It also has a lot of nutrients in it. I think it depends on a persons health to begin with if they should eat red meat or not. I wouldn't eat it every day though. Most red meat is high in saturated fat which is bad for you and clogs the arteries which can lead to a heart attack. Too much of anything is bad for you really though. But I do love the beef jerky and a good burger. I just don't eat like that every day.

I recently had lunch with a JW. It was an odd situation. I was friends with her when I was a teenager and into my early 20's. I'm now hmmmm almost 40. It had been since we were both in our early twenties since I had seen her. My sister gave her my email address and she asked me to go to lunch. She's thinking of leaving the religion is what she told me at lunch. Funny thing happened though when we met at the restaurant. Someone who is married to a JW was there and recognized her and said hi and all of that. The thing that bothered me was she was all worried then that it would get back to the others that she had lunch with me. Then she kept looking around being all paranoid that someone would see her having lunch with me and she would get in trouble. I'm DF'd so that's why she was fraking out. I won't be getting together with her again. That was so weird. I just thought it was strange that a 40 year old woman would be acting so paranoid and scared by a religion like that. Since I was in my early 20's I have not been afraid to give my opinion and just be who I am.
So what is this site? Is it an apostate message board?

Why don't I see any pastors or clergy on this forum?
by moshe init just occurred to me that i have never seen a member on jwd who was a minister/priest/rabbi/monk,friar,shamman, etc.
maybe i have just missed their posts and then again, maybe they don't come here for some reason.
i know they must come in contact with jw's and ex-jw's all the time.

Oh yeah I've definately been thinking a tall privacy fence lately. One more thing that happened was one day I left to go to the post office which I do almost every day since I have a home business. I get almost to the post office and notice him behind me and then when I get there I go in and he has not gotten out of his van until I leave the post office and then he walks in as I am leaving and I get into my vehicle and he looks back at me for way too long just standing there before he opens the door of the post office. I think that was when I decided this whole thing was a bit weird.

OK and this may sound even more paranoid but this Pastor has never gone out of his way to talk to my husband like this just me. If both me and my husband are outside on the deck he ignores us but if I am alone is when he yells over to try to talk. Anyway I am not happy about this situation. Not the subject of the post sorry.

What does he talk about? Well so far no religious stuff but maybe I'm just sensitive or paranoid. When I go out on my deck to grill food every single time he is out there and I am putting food on the grill he yells out at me asking what I am making. Maybe I'm just being weird I don't know but this Pastor has a wife and my husband would never yell out at his wife when she is out on there deck hey what are you making on the grill and we have seen his wife out there many times alone.
Yeah I'm probably just paranoid but hey what can I say of all the people to move in next door a Pastor? All I can say is I feel judgement coming if I ever do talk about religion. It's just been my experience. I'm judged by my family and judged by my husbands family for not going along with there religion and they are Lutheran it's like I can't get away from it no matter what.

My neighbor right next door is a pastor of the Lutheran church just on the corner of our street. Totally freaks me out. They just moved in about a year ago and I totally avoid talking to them at all costs. It's really hard because for some reason the Pastor seems to like to try to talk to us and is constantly trying to talk to us when we are outside. Uggggghhh what do I do? I hate talking about religion.

I've had them come to my door a few times in the last 10 years. I'm pretty sure it was because of my mother since I still live in the territory of her congregation and I know how well they keep track of that kind of stuff. The first time no one answered the door it was just a bad time and they left literature and then the second time no one was home and I just came home to there literature in the front door and the third time I had not idea who it was but my husband answered the door and he knows all about it.
He's never been a JW and he just said no thank you just like he would to any other sales person at the door. I've been pretty annoyed by it since I know it's known where my house is in there territory. It's probably a good thing that I have never actually expected them or known that it was them at the door because I am pretty angry about some stuff and might take it out on some poor innocent person.
It probably won't happen though since I have a rule of not answering the door if I don't know who is at the door. I suggest that for any woman home alone. If my husband is home he gets the door.

Avatar is a picture of my kitty. Then my screen name is similar to my real name it's sort of a nick name people use for someone with my name but it's never been my nickname so no one would know who I was.
