)i sometimes think that this is pure imagination but who am i to judge it is her experience anyways..some say that this may be a medical problem but do any of you believe that this might be true?

sirona - i'll try to do that but i dont want to give her any ideas anymore coz i think this experience of hers has actually mellowed down
most tend to feel that spirits are just a figment of one's imagination but it can also be otherwise...what we experience we try to find an explanation for and as many her say through reason and not just equating it to some spirit or something but this might also speak of something in us..maybe we're just too freaked to find out that there's that other realm so we tend to rationalize things...

at this very moment there's this tv show here which is featuring spirit questors and how they are contacting spirits which are not at peace...it is so freaky..i cant even watch it...have no one here to watch it with me
i agree with your pt. in religion jan ..but i tend to believe based from human experience there's really a spirit realm...(maybe spirits are more abundant here in asia than there just kidding hehe)

mazza....but u know it's really different here... i mean put it this way...western medicine vs eastern medicine....some eastern medicines have turned out to be better cures for cancer than that of chemotherapy or radiation..sometimes human experience overpowers that of scientific explanation...it's really hard to understand what im trying to say coz we come from very diverse backgrounds...hehe this seems BS when im writing this in this board but when talking with someone from the Phils..most could well relate to what im talking about..try asking your wife's friend..hehe

i think that it's the chinese background that's the cause of it all...once we went to singapore and went to this wax museum and my mom and my grandma felt soo freaky afterwards..they claimed that those wax people have some spirits live in them which followed us to the hotel....this for you would be unbelievable but the fact that both my mom and my grandma told each other how they felt the same seems to make it a bit credible...what do u think...? -

thanks mazza, prisca, sirona and abaddon for the input.....i know that most of you might claim the medical aspect of it but i tend to agree with sirona...well it is not only in her sleep that she says she's bothered with this, at times i think it's her being too paranoid but then again how can i truly say that if i haven't experienced what she's gone through...and coming from an asian background i think that culture adds up more to that kind of experience...
i'm not really sure whether people in us, uk, aus which most here come from realize how scary the alleged 'demonic creatures' are here...it doesnt even come close to what you perceive to be evil coz it's more freaky (ex: a girl splitting in two leaving half of the body on a place while flying to some other place to look for a pregnant woman and the tongue will be soooo elongated to penetrate through the roof to eat the fetus) you might say im crazy but there have been some i've talked with who experienced this in the provinces...
to add to that there's this chinese belief that when u add up the birthdate and the time of birth you will get a number and that number will sort of tell if you're a person who can more 'readily' see spirits or that kind of stuff and my mom falls under one of those who can see..you guys might be quite confused but it's really weird here how the culture mixes up with religion...though my mom is a devout jw she tends to agree with the chinese beliefs because it almost always turns out to be credible....but then again maybe what you perceive to be real becomes real..
she also says that watching too much horror films before caused her to have some idea of the looks of those 'wicked spirits' which is sometimes the subject of her dreams! she always dreams of running around with these freaky creatures wanting to kill her and of course blurting out God's name stops it...

Good people in the WTS
by Introspection ini sometimes think there may be people who will be largely unaffected by the organization crashing down, by virtue of them actually being good hearted people.
naturally the psychological shock will be there if they didn't see it coming at all, but i really think for some people the religion doesn't touch the core of who they are.
(actually, i think that's the case for everyone, but since this is a free country you're free to believe otherwise ;) ) so, do you know anyone like that?

it's so true that the main prob is that u can put up with technically being active but not really doing it from the heart...the wts set up too much standards..good has become within the bounds of their definition as good jw..like doing many hours in the field and stuff...but what really is good? i mean...who is a better person really...one who spends time with social work like helping the sick/poor or one who places the most magazines and claims to 'save lives'..for them it isn't that important to help the needy's physical needs but rather their spiritual needs 1st..but as humans...we do have physical needs...and we badly need to satisfy those before we could even start thinking about spiritual stuff..
