hey bang thanks for responding to my threads hehe...anyways what are u specifically into? are u catholic? are u jw?i have taken philosophy of religion and i found it quite interesting...our theology classes and philosophy classes are quite intertwined in a way coz our school is a cath univ...

opinion on judgement day...what u think?

i was thinking that based on the way god judged adam and eve as well as lot and his fam i can see that he only asked them to perform a seemingly easy task such as dont eat from that tree and don't look back..this seemingly easy task would actually be a symbol of one's radical obedience or rejection of him...so i think that maybe the next judgement day...god would ask us to do a seemingly easy task that would embody what our real feelings are toward him...and maybe all religions are like tools....they could actually help/put u down in terms of faith or get you ready for this final question..just like a class which gets you ready for the final exams....i dunno if this makes sense..oh well just an opinion...do any of you know about the catholic perspective of fundamental orientation/commitment?--mch

hello fundamental option/commitment is the orientation of the person towards good/evil..this tells us that particular acts are not reflective of a person being good/bad...but particular acts are also important because constant doing of right/wrong can further affirm your fundamental option...if u keep on doing what's opposite of your fundamental option then more likely it would shift to the opposite...but what's nice about this 'theory' so to speak is that it is the inclination of the person that is judged...so in connection with 'judgement day' i was thinking that maybe we'll be put in a situation wherein our fundamental option will be tested
and actually a religion/non religion is like the training we get before we take the final test...like school
