Tribute to Mrs. Flipper - Happy Birthday to my Sweet Wife !
by flipper inwell my wife turned another year younger yesterday - had my son and his girlfriend visiting so i couldn't post too much as we were busy celebrating !
i can truly say that having been in a couple bad relationships years before i met mrs. flipper that being with her the last 2 years plus ( married year and a half now ) has been the happiest years of my life.
the positive energy and great hilarious humor she brings to my life is one of the magic formula's that help , i believe , a couple get through the stress of living in day to day life with the pressures we all face.

my sister had the JW's at her house today. She arrived home just as they where leaving. They left the magazines with her teenage son. She took the mags over to the car group and tore the mags up in front of them and then handed them back. She told them they are not welcome at her house, never to come back and that her sister(me) was a JW but is now a proud apostate. She said thier jaws dropped . Great!!! Good job sis.

Criticism worthy of your time
by johnnyc inas i read posts throughout this site, i became amazed at some of the criticism people have actually spent time creating, reading (as i did), and responding to.
dont get me wrong, some of what i read are good issues that seem worthy (to me) of discussion, but to be honest, i find that 90% of the posts are based on ridiculous petty topics that are obviously tied to a sense of deep hatred of the wtbts.
i can appreciate that some of the people who leave such post, and have this hatred, are taking their time to discuss such things as part of a therapeutic process to combat the fact they spent a large portion of their life dedicated to an organization they feel abandoned them at some point.

In your post you said the wts abandoned us- hardly, I walked away from that cult. I saw them for what they really are, a lying sack of shit.

Anyone else ever do this
by superman ini remember how much emphasis the org used to put on studying your publications, and how looking at other peoples books during the meeting was like seeing a lazar show with bright, hot, multicolored, florescent highlighted pages.
but i never personally enjoyed studying (even when i was more hardcore in it) so since i used to have privileges/responsibilities one of the requirements was to study for all the meetings, so before the meetings i would take a hot yellow and florescent blue marker and quickly just start marking up my books so that it looked like it was studied.
sometimes to look even more spiritual i would take a pen and start writing random crap in the margins, even scribble lines so from far away it looked likes cursive.

I use to work on the houshold budget during the watchtower lesson, Its amazing how much I accomplished during that hour. People would think I was taking notes- haha little did they know.

Did you secretly not want studies and rv's?
by new light ini remember going out in circus because it was what we did.
the idea of having to conduct a study or being responsible for a return visit and, therefore, eternal state of existence, caused knots in the stomach and massive dread.
actually having to commit to field circus long term with no hope of escape to save someone's life was a real downer.

Field service was something I hated and would hope no one would be home. If I did get a return visit I always sought out a pioneer and turned it over to them. I was good at making excuses as to why I could not follow up on the call.

What was your first "Real" job...?
by Casper inone where you were actually given a paycheck, & where did you end up after that , if you're in the mood to tell ?
there are a lot of intelligent people here with, i assume, some very interesting occupations.... but hey, we all had to start somewhere........ for myself, my first real job was at a local clothing store, imagine my surprise when at the age of 18 i realized just how much items were marked up...!!!
i priced the clothes at 3 times the cost to the store.
