Questions for DFShipped...
by LDH inhi, dfs.. first of all, let me say it is not necessary to label yourself on this board, or anywhere on the internet for that matter.. so many of us have family members that are df'd, it really doesn't hold much water round here.
i did have some questions for you though, which of course you don't have to answer.. 1. why were you disfellowshipped?

Deacon,
I have read with great surprise your unrelenting attack on those you perceive to be hyprcrites. What is the matter with you? You are no master over the conscience of anyone, neither have you th eright, moral or otherwise to criticise anyone for posting here. Here are honest people troubling with doubts and trying to find direction in their lives. Here's an avenue for freedom of speech. And it is being embraced. And depite the fact that some on this board have shown standard tolerance, you continue to criticise. See, I am a bonafide JW, and I go out in service and deliver talks and mix with Jw folks. And I do post here. Does not make me a hypocrite? A yes answer from you would show the depth of your thoughts! Are things always black or white for you? Do you understand the circumstances of each one?? Come off your high horse (and it's not that high, y'know) and begin to reason. Stop those unkind words and be human again. -

Lisa, why do you...er...write 'fornication' and not fornication? Just curious.
DFShipped Quote:
"my actions albeit of a short period of time revealed apparent unrepentance. At the time I was ashamed of what I had done, I felt I was repentant but chose not to argue the matter"rather confusing, no? You didn't argue, so how did they think you weren't repentant?

Obed, good old Obed! Where have you been? I'll be in SF. May be I'll see you. Hey, how've ya been doing? Now you see you. You got me here. After lurking and reading on witnet, see where you got your good old friend. These guys're apostates - like you, hehehe - and can't leave them alone. Welcome Obed. Your farewell letter was moving. Hope you've actually moved on.

Nelly, this is it. I think they've got too much to loose if it happens that I leave the bolting way. They'll remain 'blinded'. I wish to let my friends see the true history of the org and let them know all the stuff it seems is being hidden. And to do that without being seen as an enemy. And to do it with love. I doubt they'll be able to handle a sudden exposure to the facts. I know a family member whom I'm sure will have a psycho condition were the truth to be known to her. Slowly, they should learn the history, not from the Proclaimers book. They should learn about those changes made to the wordings from the issues of the WT. How will they know if I suddenly become a demon? Truth is, I have no problem with one being a JW, just that they remove the thought that only they are going to be there after the big A, know that they must take responsibility for their actions and the decisions they make, not dumping it on the writing dept.
TR, I do have a higher goal of helping the 'needy'. That's a simple Christian message. All organized religion seem to have that trait. They do. But I think belonging to a group helps. Like yu'll agree this is a group. But you must make your decisions. No man may rule your life. And that's what I see with me.
Thanks Larc. Thanks. YYou remain their friends, right? I think that's the way. IF you're going to leave, just fade out, don't blast out.

Thanks all.
Critter, you missed the joke per apostates. meet them all in service, so what talking with them on line. Plus, who's an apostate? The JW def's too narrow. If it's true then I'm one but I'm not.Neyank, I do go out in service but not all the time like that. Do more of informal witnessing. Anything contrary to what I perceive to be truth I don't teach. Why do I go out in service? For me it's a community service kind of thing. There are people needing help. The bible's basic message can improve their lives. Help could also be offered in other ways. Time remains an important factor. Many of the brothers in my hall I believe are oblivious of these issues, they do not even have a good grasp on the org's history. Should one allow himself to be demonized by these honest men and women? There should be a better way to do things.
Six, I was going somewhere with that Humility thread. All those 'words of wisdom' were straight from WT publications. I was wondering if they could apply the words to themselves first.
And TR, you're dead wrong! I have the morbid fear of being demonized by friends and family. Some of them will just plain trip off! Like they did to my friend who got disfellowshipped. I don't see the friend often, but when I do, we hug and hug. Why should I let me be the scapegoat? There must be a way. And I don't think the Christendom churches are any better, only the WT isn't exactly what it claims to be.

Right. I'm coming out. I attend meetings; all of them. Even handle some talks. But don't believe in blood. And that everything written's from Jah himself. Don't hold any human in awe. Sifts through the Watchtower and believe what I think's true. Know a bit of JW history per prophecies and dates. 1874, 1914, 1918, 1925, 1975, 1999/2000, plus all the stuff most elders in my cong don't. And, well, associate with you apostates and inactive ones in virtual reality (you guys and gals 'll be responsible if anything happens to Gozz!!) And do have JW friends. Good guys. Great gals. Wish to marry a good JW girl. Many of the girls're good...Love the brothers, sisters at the hall. They're humble folks, serving God the best they can. But. These posts, these thoughts. If elders see them I'm an apostate, no? I wanna know. Is Gozz, even by the standards of this board leading a double life?? But I want to remain a JW all the same doing things my way and doing Jehovah's will. Impossible task??

Simon, true words. I've had to take a closer looka t my friends. Them JWs born into it. And I wonder. Even the well educated and intelligent ones, they can't take it. They can't take anything not toeing the organizational line. It's frustrating. They have a different way of reasoning. Only those who've been exposed to the outside world see things differently. I just wonder. You're spiritually weak if you miss a meeting, if you don't chat with them brothers after meeting, if you report a few hours. A pioneer's always spirituality strong. Being an elder's confirmation of your solid spirituality; all non-Jws are the enemy, they are the world, meats or the big A. And yes, anything in print is right, no questioning (this one knocks me off, dead!) You want to discuss any scriptural issue, it's independent thinking; food must come through only one source, anything from another pot's poison...Sure the GB doen't teach all these, do they? And are all the writing dept guys anointed?

Words of Wisdom on Humility
Forgiving. Some people have difficulty saying, “I’m sorry. I made a mistake. You were right.” Why? Too much pride!
French writer Voltaire described humility as “the modesty of the soul . . . the antidote to pride.” Yes, humility is lowliness of mind. A humble person is modest in spirit, not proud. He is deeply respectful and courteous.
How do you react when a suggestion comes from a younger person or from a woman? If you are humble, you will at least consider it. If you are proud, you will resent it or reject it out of hand.

Amicus, I had the same feeling. It sure sounded like a quote from the Watchtower. Thinker, thanks for the search.
These comments, they're averse to reason. God's mouthpiece raising a flase alarm? I'm getting more and more discomfited. Those guys at the writing department, where do they train them? And then JWs are to take their words as the law of God. Someone's said this before at witnet, a lot of those men will have a personal accounting to do. I fail to understand the motivations for those things, it's unbelievable they can't see reason. There's something locked in the minds of those who write such things. Who wknows what it is?
