BREAKING MY SILENCE EVERYONE READ!!!
by D8TA inas ive made it known on this board, my current status with the watchtower bible and tract society is that of inactive.
this is a loophole i have utilized, to keep an open channel of communication with family members in the organization.. i want to clarify with everyone: i do not hold any doctrinal ideas, theology, ideology, opinions expressed in any form by the wtbts.
therefore, to simply put, i do not believe in the wtbts in any way, shape, or form.

why I don't flip off women drivers
by John Doe ini was riding to work yesterday when i observed a female driver who cut right in front of a pickup truck, causing the driver to drive onto the shoulder to avoid hitting her.
this evidently angered the driver enough that he hung his arm out his window and gave the woman the finger.
'man, that guy is stupid,' i thought to myself.

Do JW's now believe the year 2012 will bring armageddon?
by dutchstef inlast weekend i was enjoing the good weather in holland with my mother and my kid sister, who still is a jw, on a terras, drinking a beer.. my mother always tries to tell something positive that happened at the cong or something that she read in the washtowel and then i react negative or not at all.
it's a kind of game i don't know.. this time she said something like despite the fact that armageddon doesn't have to come during the generation of 1914, that does not mean that it isn't near... and then my kid sister reacted on this and said yes...possibly 2012.... i was pretty stunned... of this remark.. has anyone else heard something about the jw's now focussing on the year 2012?.

Reniaa brings out a good point. Forgiveness brings a certain amount of peace within yourself and you become more content because of it. That doesn't mean, imho, that you have to purposely continue to allow toxic relationships in your life as the bible says, "bad associations spoil useful habits". This might be the case in your situation.
Anyways, welcome!

suggestions
by isaacaustin inabout 20 or so years ago my dad brought a man into the cult.
we have been corresponding via email of late and he wants to try to 'save' me.
we have spoken thus far on the need for an org, gov body, fds, 1914, etc....and he has been unable to answer my questions.

In some bibles the word blood in Acts is translated as "murder"...

ohhh, good question. You know, about a year and a half ago the society encouraged us to look up old "questions from readers". I actually did that, and came up with a lot of crap regarding rape, organ transplants, not being able to get a divorce if your husband slept with another man, etc... Why not bring some of that up?

Did You Feel The Love As A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus inother than feeling "love bombed" when you first started associating with the "brotherhood", did you experience the "love" in your years within the organization?.
if you felt truly loved, was it in reality, a "conditional love"?.

yes, I felt a lot of love by some of the people... I wish I could get them out... I try, but some are just so blind..

I have no idea hamster... I do know that when I was little my mom told me that my grandmother would never become a JW so I thought the only way for her to get into the new system was for her to die... And I thought she had to do it soon because the big A was coming any day now...
So, I used to beg her to die. She said she would die but that wasn't enough for me. I told her she HAD to die today... Then, I would be upset that she didn't die...
