Watchtower sued for Racketeering in California
by under the radar ina little birdie informed me that a lawsuit against the watchtower bible & tract society, its legal department, and several individuals (perhaps lawyers in the legal department) has been filed in the superior court of the state of california, county of los angeles for, wait for it.... racketeering!.
that's right, folks, you heard it here first.
i have no other information, other than the case was stamped "aug 07 2015" and the docket number appears to be bc590675.

I tend to doubt this will go anywhere since he's representing himself. Hope I wrong though... -

Angus Stewart calls the JW religion a captive organization
by oppostate inif you watched the questioning of terrence o'brien by angus stewart at day 7 part 3 on youtube--thanks so much for uploading these videos--you'll see that mr. stewart puts quite clearly to brother o'brien that the jw 0rganization is a "captive organization".. he makes this reference regarding the practice of da/df'ing and shunning, which he mentions is the one thing that makes ex-jw's the most angry.
because insisting on shunning ex-members causes psychological trauma and separates people from their family, friends and their community of support; therefore, they are held captive by the organization if they don't want to lose those most dear to them.. i believe angus stewart is to be commended for seeing clearly what the wt/jw religion is truly like in practice, and it isn't pretty.. the term "captive organization" is usually used in finance to mean a business front, a legal veil that shields the parent company from liability and having to make big insurance payouts.
for example if the australian branch gets sued and loses, the "wt australia" corporation will pay the amount awarded by the judge to the complainant.

Royal Commission and blood transfusion refusal for children?
by Marvin Shilmer ini wonder if the royal commission has examined the practice of jws being led to refuse blood transfusion for children when medically necessary to save life or preserve health in relation to the question of child abuse.
i've not heard anything about this brought up.
is the rc concerned solely with life altering abuse only in the form of sexual molestation, or is it looking at how the organization deals with all life altering forms of abuse jw children are exposed to the result of watchtower teaching and society?

Good question. I thought this was solely on the child abuse issue, but, it would be great if I was wrong! -

l just had a discussion with my uber Dub father about the RC in Australia
by joe134cd injust jotting this down while it's fresh in my mind.. joe= apparently they have got issues over in australia at the moment with sex abuse, and this time the government got involved.. dad=yeah they mentioned this at the assembly last weekend.
apparently so they said all religions and organisations are been investigated.
joe= kind of seems funny how the only 2 religious groups been interviewed so far are the catholics and jws.

Litebright - very true. I'm inactive, we all know what would happen if I brought a Christmas tree in the house or posted birthday pictures on FaceBook.
I'm not disfellowshipped and yet my brother won't let me attend his baby shower. I guess this is an example of me not getting shunned. Must be all in my head...

I get where you want to be compassionate, however; compassion goes right out the window for me when I think about all the CHILDREN being abused right now and not getting the help they need because of him and his cronies. -
