Shocking rules in the past/ present of society...

1. you couldn't get a divorce if mate cheated on somebody of the same sex or an animal.

2. you couldn't get an organ transplant.

1. How can your mate cheat on an animal? Does he go out and buy a new pet or something? (Lame, I know.)
2. What's the rape rule now? It used to be that, if you didn't scream while you were being raped, you were guilty of fornication.
3. Also, what's the voting rule now? I remember a JW telling me with glee in the mid 90's, "We can vote now! Uh, not that I would, but...." Where's that almighty neutrality stand now?
4. An old rule was that the UN was bad. Apparently, if you're an NGO, the UN is good.
5. They used to teach that emotions came from the heart, not the brain, so having a heart transplant was a big no-no. They also said any kind of organ transplant was cannibalism.

2. They have lightenned up on that. You won't get d'f if you don't scream... But, they will find out what happened to make sure you didn't do anything wrong...

that happened in 70 ce... i guess it has 2 fulfillments.... i'm drinking a beer right now, not in the mood for this conversation... mostly i hear, bla bla bla bla bla....... he's trying to figure something out... i asked whether those scriptures had 1 or 2 fulfillments... anyone know???.

For example, Can you e-mail your hubby? If so, start sending him a few things, carefully selected. Maybe start off with non JW things, like youtube videos or jokes etc.

not a bad idea... I was thinking about sending him some JW stuff but I didn't want anything that used the word "cult" or "brainwashing"... I just want to be careful when I do decide to send him the 1st couple of things that are jw... Anyone have any ideas??? Thanks!!!

well - i had been wanting to do this for a long time , to question a legal department representative at bethel about the child abuse settlements and jw child abuse, since last year when the news came out about it.

especially since my dad , an elder for years was never aware of it and has on his own taken steps to see that families with children are informed if a former pedophile is in their congregation.

i was curious as to what the current views and policies in place are .

Does this nightmare ever end? I mean really? WTF? Aren't they supposed to be guided by powers higher than men? Aren't they supposed to be protecting the flock? Screw it... I need here no more.

Dawg, breath!!! hmmmm, is there anything that can be done??? If so, let's do it... We should all call or write to the society... Demand Change... Or, take an ad out in the newspaper and warn people...

Oh my goodness!!!

That is so true... I know I've said it on this forum before, but I'm gonna say it again...

I used to beg my grandmother to die cause I thought that was the only way for her to make it into the new system... i was about 6 years old... I would beg her all the time to die and that she couldn't wait til later, she had to die today... I was persistant and practically in tears...

My parents I'm sure had a difficult time explaining that one...
