Wow, you poor thing. Yes, everything sounds so familiar. I grew up feeling the same mistrust in Elders. My father was the PO and was abusive to us kids. Totally got away with it no matter how many elders found out.

Anyways, I feel bad you felt the need to go to the elders a few months ago. What they did is dehumanizing, degrading, and just plain awful. It happens often when people go.

I'm glad to see that you are back with your bf! Just take a deep breath. You don't have to have everything figured out this minute. Just take your time, ask questions, research, and simply let your heart guide you. Jesus said, "My yoke is kindly and my load is light". Please, take that to heart cause he really meant it!

I'm going to the Kindom Hall to please my parents

my parents are visting from florida and i agreed to take them to the kingdom hall for a meeting, but i'm just doing to make them feel comfortable while they are here.

i told them i'll be sitting in the back with jeans and sneakers playing with my i phone.

i made shure they didn't get any wrong impressions about me returning to the kingdom hall.

I meant to say Sunday, not Sat.

Anyways, something else I'd consider. Why not consider sitting down in a suit and no i phone? It could put down there walls, encourage communication, and allow you to tactfully ask the hard questions. They might just go down that road since they have there walls down a bit. Anyways, just a thought...

I have gone many times even though I didn't want to. For me, it's helped prevent the walls from going up with hubby and has allowed open communication. Now I'm at the point where I no longer feel a need to go. Once in awhile I do but not really. Life is about compromise as long as you keep true to yourself and your values at the same time. Everything I did has a specific "bigger picture" reason for it. My husband is now going to a spiritual gathering with me this Saturday so it definitely has had positive results! I wish the best for you!

i never had to think about what a massive predicament it is to be watching your 6 month old alone and having a massive dump come along that you know is going to take 10-15 minutes...especially if your child is being really fussy.. -sab.

Hope you find your way outta this sucky situation. I know desperate times can call for desperate measures... I will say though. I've lived without a home at all. As in, in my car both in the freezing winter months and in the dead of summer. It was bad. But I will say, when you go through stuff like that and work your way outta it, you learn a hell of a lot in the process. If I didn't work my way outta it, I wouldn't be where I am today. And I'm doing pretty well for what my needs and a lot of my wants (within reason) are. If I had taken an easy way out, I'm not so sure I would have gotten to where I have gotten... I think sometimes struggles will bring you to where it is you need to go.

There was a guy named Dawg on this forum. Great guy. One thing he taught me, is that deep down our own intuition really knows what the right thing to do is. We may fight that intuition because we don't trust its the right way to go, but, usually it is.

But, that's simply my own experience. I hope the best in yours...

but damm it can be tough on the outside!!

!.....hi old friends....it would be sooooo much easier if you work for a company...with normal people around you....but damm if you have your own biz for thirty years with five jw employees out of 15 that pretty much run your company.....well just crap!!

!....anyhwho.....good luck to all moving on....it can be a bitch...but it is worth it....and damm divorce is a bitch...and so is settlement...and so is fukkin alimony!!!!!!

Do Elders and Bethelites really follow this site?

just a question really and whilst i would not put it past them i sort of feel it is too 'conspiracy theory' for me.

are elders and bethelites officially sanctioned to lurk (or engage) in this or other sites to try to weedle out apostates?

does anyone have any direct experience of it happening?.

olin r. moyle was an attorney for the watchtower society from 1935 to 1939. he left bethel in 1939 due to becoming disillusioned with "judge" rutherford's conduct.

Finally finding my way out...

well, its been about 2 1/2 years and have slowly done less and less.

i've been to about 30 minutes of a meeting in the last month and a half where i stayed out back and with my daughter.. i've been looking for the right timing to leave but had decided i will go anyways by the time my daughter is about 1 years old.

but, it just so happens that my some members of my family including and mostly my parents have actually given me a good enough of an excuse to get out.. they have broken to many rules.

lol, hotspur. One of these days!!! I hope soon. I just feel like there is just 1 thing thats gonna happen that makes it all click for him. I've never really felt that close to it clicking with him until now. I just see how many things he sees clearly and you look at him and see his mind is filling up with all these red flags and it just doesn't make sense to him... But, the lightbulb still hasn't actually gone off yet...

I've been looking for the right timing to leave but had decided I will go anyways by the time my daughter is about 1 years old. That time has come. But, it just so happens that my some members of my family including and mostly my parents have actually given me a good enough of an excuse to get out.

They have broken to many rules. Not just regular rules. Not JW rules. Rules that go against my instinctive morality. They have disgusted my husband to the point where he has said that the elder arrangement has to be a political arrangement. He is still somewhat in though.

I no longer feel the burden of trying to stay in for my family. I never felt the need to stay in for my husband and feel a strong need to get out for my daughter.

When it comes to my husband, I simply don't say anything about it. I just don't go. He hasn't been going a lot either anyways. We are to busy living life and enjoying everything.
