Being a good mom, having a good career, being a good person.
Yup, money's at the top of the list. Don't like handouts and want to provide a good future for my kids so they don't have to struggle the way I did. College isn't free... Tutors aren't free... The list goes on and on...

A Question about Hedge Funds and WTBTS
by iwasblind ini was listening to the radio today and heard that most hedge funds have recorded a double digit loss, some of them have even written a letter to investors apologising and explaining why this has happened.. i know there has been speculation about wtbts investing in hedge funds, i also remember seeing a video from snarky apologist showing they were on the attendee board for a hedge fund investing seminar.. i wonder if the latest panic cost cuts have to do with losing some money??.
i can't figure out where their money is going.
when i look at the financials available they are covering costs or losing a little bit.

Special Pioneer Sister-in-Law and Husband just got their letter.
by cappytan inwell, my sister-in-law and her husband, special pioneers for only a couple of years, just got their letter.. her comment was along the lines of, "they're having to do this because they forgave all those kingdom hall loans a few years ago and the brothers aren't donating anymore.".
when my wife told me, i laughed so hard i farted.
;).

Latest Letter
by Coded Logic indear mentally diseased apostates,.
we are happy to report to you that we are tired of waiting around for jehovah to do his his whole "armageddon thing" and have instead taken steps to expedite the end ourselves.
we are very confident as "guardians of the doctrine" that we can accomplish this by dismantling the wtbts and its subsidiaries which will, in turn, force god's hand and bring about the coming of jesus riding on a white horse out of the clouds with a sword - or skulls - or scales - err, whatever .

I must say, the most hilarious thing is watching how territorial my 4 year old gets over her candy.
I get, "AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Don't take my candy. Ever again! Alright Mommy?"
So funny!

Ava, my 6 year old was feeling nervous about it also. Apparently, she's put it together that I like to do bad things... But, she wound up enjoying the day.
Damn cults...

What more do they need to see?
by stuckinarut2 inso bethelites are being decreased...bethel homes even sold off.... special pioneers no longer being funded.. magazines getting smaller and published less frequently.. building work stopping or being reduced.. no large conventions and renting of venues.. etc.... so, money is not coming in anymore to cover the "expenses"??.
didnt the first ever watchtower said that when this occurs, it would be evidence of god no longer blessing the activity....
oh, and throughout the years, we have constantly been told that the "growth of the org and the projects such as buildings and contributions" etc were evidence of gods blessing.... .

Blondie - I agree but they also sold books back then. This donation arrangement has been their greatest downfall.
On the other hand, you might be right. If they sold a good amount of more real estate, cut back more on Bethelites, Special Pioneers and print, they could probably do it.
They'd lose a lot of people, but, there's always other people that would join.
In my opinion, they are still not making nearly the necessary cutbacks. I think in 2016 there will be a lot more. In my opinion, double what we saw in 2015.

Handing out candy
by mikeypants ingrowing up my parents would barricade our home off by parking vehicles bumper to bumper - you would have to crawl under the cars or over the bumpers to get to our door.
also, we would turn off all the lights and hide in the back room away from the street.. that was the norm for me.
isnt that insane?
