Anyone here into vegetarianism?

this trying to become somewhat of a vegetarian is hard.

i can look up anything on the net and find out how to do anything, including how to make a devastating nail bomb to making ricine (sp) to kill people but i can't seem to find out the nutritional values a person needs.. what i worry about most is the protein that we need on a daily basis.

right now i am eating everything that has the highest content of protein i can find in the cupboard.. i am not trying to go vegetarian because of peta, although i have watched the video's (eeeeewwwww).

Dazed and Confused

I have been trying to go on a vegetarian diet for ages but I to was worried about the protein sources. I am glad you asked the question, there are some good answers here.

Now another thing I am interested in is some good vegetarian recipes for Main dishes ???? I have gone to those health food stores that have food to go and had some delicious stuff. a bunch of beans or rice or tofu and spices but I can't find any good recipes.

Its not uncommon I think, we just don't hear about it in the media

When I was a JW in Eastern Ontario our whole territory had all kinds of people who were incestuous. In most cases the children never mind the parents were mentally challanged.

Everybody Loves Raymond

just had to share this.. we were at the tulalip casino yesterday, a very large indian casino north of seattle.

ray romano and brad garrett were there playing poker and blackjack.

it was weird.

Wow Mulan obviously playing poker and going to the casino can be very interesting. We have casinos up here in Canada but I doubt they attract celebrities.

I saw Brad Garett in Toronto in Yorkville one day a few years ago. I was sitting in a restaurant at a window table and he stopped right outside the open window where I was for some reason. He made eye contact with me for a second . I was so tempted to say Hi, but I didn't want to bother him. Yes he was very tall but not as large as I thought he would be. I loved Everybody Loves Raymond and have seen everyone of the shows many times over.

I watch Law and Order SVU all the time and think Christopher is a great actor.

I have never played Poker at a casino but have played lots of it at home with friends. I was a croupier at one time, dealt blackjack. Love that game.

i may just fade away, but on the other hand, i went ahead and told the elders that i don't believe in the wts garbage anymore.

Welcome Awakened and I am very interested in hearing more about you. Its always good to hear that even the spiritually strong are seeing that the "truth" is a Lie.

Being labeled Apostate because you don't agree, its so Stupid but there are tons of people on this board who are in this boat.

You are very brave and honest to have made this decision, you were obviously very involved in the Watchtower Society. It is not a easy route to go.

I faded, and 25 years later its a distant memory but not a forgotten one on my part.

Welcome to the board, hope to know more about you and feel free to vent. The Blog you shared with us is not shocking at all and was very honest, probably lots of young people out there leading double lives. I was very much like that young woman many moons ago and I got caught and disfellowshipped for it at the age of 18. I was reinstated 10 years later after I had got the wild side out of my system. then I saw the JW's for what they really were, and faded away. No more double life for me.

Burn the ships

Cleansing the colon is good for you if you don't eliminate properly, if you don't eat properly etc. Here in North America we even breath in toxins, so I think its good for a person to wash the colon out to eliminate toxins. Thats my opinion and its my business also.

I didn't think a thread would be of interest to anyone on this subject. You said it made you pucker up at the thought LOL.

Here I thought you were really into it as you described it perfectly.

I still think BFD adding that photo was just hillarious in light of this thread

By the way I wasn't mocking you, just trying to understand how you think and what your motives are. I really meant it when I said most people, me included get turned off by this I am saved stuff because it sounds like you are saying you are better than us.

It just seemed you wanted to spout how YOU are saved and the rest of us need to do it YOUR way because you know for sure that you are saved and Jesus is in you and you have the Truth. Thats kind of like what most of us have been hearing in a bit of a different way while being in the JW cult so it turns us off. I was trying to tell you that that kind of talk is not how to get to Us if you want to save us. We need to see how having Jesus in you and being saved will help us right now, help the world and what good works you do besides talk and say You are saved.

Yes we do need to know who you are in order to have it proved to us and believe you are saved. We need to see how its making you a better person in your life and how you treat others. Just my 2 cents and how I see it.
