Welcome Divanvegas
I have been out for 25 years and just in the past year found out there was so many others out here who have been in the same situation.
Welcome to the family at JWD.
hi everyone i am new to the forum and i was raised a jw in the seattle area.
it does strike me fascinating that after 15 years of not being an active witness that i do feel a strong fraternity type connection to this group, and anyone i may come in contact with that was one.
it's is the most powerful, profound association that if you connect with another x-jw you feel like family.

Welcome to the family at JWD.
who knows the best stuff to use?
my daughter gave me two pouches of poison..i put one down - all gone the next morning,!!!.
the next night i put another pouch down, all gone!!
Mouthy, I am so sorry you have a Mouse or a Rat, I wish I could help you. I had them when I lived in Toronto, I tried everything but the only thing that worked was getting a Cat and or the Poison but the poison is Yuk. The cat made it so they just didn't come in the house. But thats another problem, you have to take care of the cat.
The poison works, I have done that but it takes several days. I had tons of Rats and mice in my business office in downtown toronto, I came into work one morning and there was a dead mouse lying beside the "mouse" for my computer, I reached out to use the mouse and there was a dead mouse right beside it. You could hear me screaming down the block. I HATE MICE AND RATS.
Anyway the poison does work, but it takes several days and the down side is they die all over the place and sometimes not where you can see them. Rats tend to chew big holes in the baseboard area or somewhere to get in. Mice don't do that. I had that in my office, a big hole with wood shavings all over when I came into the office in the morning. Then one morning a week later I walked in and there was this big rat lying dead on the floor. UGH. Its not Fun.
I hate traps, and LOL not into banging them with a frying pan after they are trapped. I had professional pest control come in when I had them at the office and it still took time for them to die.
it took a long time, but i can finally say i'm out and i took my family with me.. this is my first post but i have been reading here for a while.
i was brought up a witness, in a family that was very 'strong' (or so everyone thought).
i didnt have a relationship with my perents at all other than the 'family study'.
Welcome Freeatlast
You are so lucky your wife listened and that you both got out of the Religion. Congratulations.
Looking forward to getting to know more about you and your family.

I am sooooooooooooooooo tired of hearing about the bible study change announcement. How many threads are there on it now?? Tomorrow when its announced how many more will crop up. Enough already@!!!!!!
I can't understand what kind of big deal it is anyway.
I am only interested if they announce that they are selling all the Kingdom Halls and closing up shop.
i had many days like this but i will never forget the time that a 'prominent elder' publicaly declared that he wants to see the worldly people die at armaggeddon.
"i hope that i can look out the window & watch it all happening".
i went home and thought; 'wtf am i a part of here'?
Hope
Loved the photo of your Big Boy, its so sad to lose them. I have had 2 Guys like yours, love them. I lost Jake last year at the age of 13 and now have this one named Zeke, he was 1 in this photo,
part of the reason there are so many divisions and opinions and versions of the bible is because, quite honestly, alot of it just doesn't make any sense.
it's full of symbolism, metaphors, allegories, parables, and even some of the narratives conflict with themselves.
the book of revelation makes no sense at all.

Your statement is So true in reality, for some reason the way you said that had me laughing out loud it struck me so funny. My husband came running and wondering what was so funny. I rarely laugh out loud so you made my day. LOL
I have often said this exact same thing. Why does the bible have to be such a mystery and open to interruptation. Why can't we just be told the Truth and what God wants. Why can't he show us signs or miracles to prove that he means business etc etc. It just doesn't seem fair all this confusion.
I know a lot of the JW's explanation is that its not confusing if you have a good heart and ask for Gods direction. Then he will guide you to the truth. They think that is what has happened to them.
I don't buy that anymore.

Definitely the day I got baptized. I DID NOT want to do it. I was 15. I was literally sick to my stomach and knew I did not want to dedicate my life to this religion.
Here is a photo of that day. I am on the left, The other two girls were 14. We are waiting for our turn to be dunked. Such a sad Day in my opinion.
i only caught about the last ten minutes of it but what i saw described jw's to a t. they talking about how this cult leader didn't come into a new body or something like that and how although his prophecy didn't come true his followers still believe him.
sound familiar?
if anybody knows when this program comes on again please let me know, thanks.
Oh darn I missed that, I had meant to watch it. Hope it comes on again. Wasn't that about the guy Michael who lives in New Mexico and said that the world would end October 31st 2007
Now he says it was just a test to see how their faith was???
Crazy crazy
i just thought it might be interesting to see what everyone has planned for the weekend.
tonight is our last night of our mixed doubles bowling league.
we get the money for the how we did this past season, ach, that's ok. .
Hi everyone and happy weekend. Its always time to celebrate in my opinion and a great thread. Life is here to be enjoyed not waiting for doom and gloom I have always enjoyed weekends ever since I left the Borg. Before it used to be Field Service and then Sunday talk and watchtower study to look forward too. UGH
My guy and I are not doing anything exciting. We are going to have a nice BBQ tonight, have some red wine, shoot some pool on our pool table. We are also opening the swimming pool today. A bit of work but worth it in the long run. I want to be able to swim by May 1st. This involves getting a pump and fire hose from the fire hall where my husband is a firefighter, then filling the pool from the river. This takes about 45 minutes versus the garden hose method which will take 5 days. Thats our excitement.
....that is not sure if you believe in god?
i envy those of you who have moved through this space.
wings.
Wings I think there has to be something bigger out there than us and Intelligent but who I don't know. Nothing but mystery and confusion lately as to who this being is.
I also believe there has to be other forms of life out there, we are such a little small planet in such a vast universe, why would we be the only life forms.
We just don't know enough unfortunately and there is nothing we can do about it. So I have decided to not worry and relax and enjoy life.
Hugs to you Wings from Velvet
