here's my situation.
i scored pretty well in the asvab and now have my pickings of the available mos in the army reserves.
pretty sure i'm shoe in, except for a minor detail.
Slimboyfat-
I'm sure you were going for a poke at me, but either way, thanks for posting that, lol. I'm checking out the whole series on youtube. Pretty funny.
here's my situation.

I never said it was only available in the marines. Please read carefully.
No shit, fucktard. I'm well aware of the DEP, since it's available to all branches. There was no need to click on your link you posted or for you to explain it any further.
I have no idea how good your English is but I never said they are addressed as drill sergeants. They are drill sergeants and they are addressed as "sir" or "ma'am", when speaking of someone in the 3rd person you are not addressing them, therefore I call them drill sergeants.
Do you actually read what you post? Seriously. If you can't even get that straight, it's no wonder you couldn't even hack it. Bottom line, U.S. Marine Corps Drill Instructors are never to be referred to as 'Drill Sergeants' which is strictly an Army term in the American military. That's a fact.
I suggest you work on your English if you won to join the United States military.
Since I "won" to join the United states military, and scored high enough on the ASVAB to have my pick of any MOS in the US army, I'll do just fine with my broken "engrish". How much longer are you keep you using that same bit about my english? Really.
I still have my Delayed Enlistment I.D card and I can make you look very stupid in a second.
Wouldn't make me look stupid, I was just giving you the benifit of the doubt that you had to be making up that story, cause really you have to be a complete moron to join DEP and with 2 days left till you ship out for BOOT CAMP, come to the realization that the military would use you as they see fit and that orders will be barked at you and at the same time prove you were no pussy. So you wasted all that time showing up for drills, and correct me if I'm wrong, was this nearly for a year. WOW.
Be my guest, prove how stupid I am...

BLUE GRASS-
First off, DEP is available for all branches to prepare, not just marines. They get you in line mainly to train you physically. They're not there to break you down, that's for boot camp to do. The last thing they want to do is scare recruits before boot camp.
2nd, in the marines, YOU DON'T ADDRESS MARINE DRILL INSTRUCTORS AS "DRILL SERGEANTS". Certainly you would've learn this from the get-go, but you continue with lying or really you're just that hard headed that you couldn't even measure up at DEP, LOL. But I still think you're a liar and just engaging for the sake of arguing to justify the reason why you couldn't go or don't agree with.
And you just add to your doucheness with your condescending attitude. Amazing, the more you keep posting, the further it solidifies that it was JUST calling you out. You need to grow up and move out of your parent's basement.
Satan's little helper-
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm actually running 9 to 11 miles a week, minimum . And I'm already down to an 8 min. mile and hate running, lol. I'm actually enjoying it more and actually see why people love running. Pushup are something else though, looking to hit 60 (goal is a hundred) consecutive push ups, lotta work, especially with my 50 hour work weeks.
For some reason I'm unable to join, well at least I can say I really tried.

You see, BLUE GRASS, your true colors are coming out. Let me explain:
Actually everything I said to you I already said to 3 drill sergeants, and one of them was a sergeant major. I'm not a good fit for the military because I can't play the role of someone's bitch.
First off, you're a LIAR. If you never made it to boot camp, how is it possible to deal with a drill sergeant at that level?
2nd LIE - You said you've signed up for the marines (Good choice, I'm too old for the marines age limit for USMC reserv. is 28) . Marines do not call their Drill instructors, "Drill sergeants". If you gonna lie, get your shit straight.
hey got in my face and I got right back in theirs and that caused a whole bunch of problems with my recruiters.
Again, your E-BALLS don't count for shit in the real world and already discredited yourself by your lies. WHAT ARE YOU, 8?
I'm certainly not a pussy.
I certainly beg to differ.
Only a pussy would stand there and let a drill sergeant talk to them anyway they want, which you seem to be so willing to accept. Maybe you secretly love being dominated by men, who knows?
Well, yeah! You know, it's my thing. Something about men in uniforms, MMM! *rolleyes* Obviously, you don't know your ass from your elbow about the military and now I even question the validity of your story even signing up. You're a sad individual and not sure why you even posted to begin with.
And as far the video, some one else posted it and does show the horrors of war. There's nothing glamorous about it. But it's war and shit happens. Will I ever be in that situation? I hope not. But then again, the aviation MOS I'm shooting for, (no pun intended) could involve anything from medium transport, escort and support to humanitarian missions.
Sad really that I actually have to explain this. Crazy I tell ya.

Blue grass-
First, it's you're, not your. Keep that in mind. Typing fast didn't keep you from making that error.
2nd- Let me reveal to you, my BIRTH father was born in california and was in the US army at the time at my birth. My JW PIONEER mother and ELDER STEP FATHER who kept on pushing about how JEHOBAH hate liars, decided to lie to me for nearly 30 years of my life who my real father was. Luckily I was finally able to meet him and 4 other brothers. But unfortunatley all of this went down after the fact applying for citizenship.
So technically, I'm US Citizen at birth. But since it requires me to travel back to my birth country, PANAMA, request a hearing at the consulate, and along with my birth father, so on so forth, it's a long drawn out beuacratic process. I'm ok with being naturalized. As far as enlisting in the army reserve, that was a family decsison, not mine alone. If the wife didn't support it, chances are, we wouldn't have this discussion.
Since I got that out of the way, you can literally go fuck yourself, BLUE GRASS. I dont know you from a hole in the wall, but you're real a peice of work.
Well that was a hasty general on your part. I actually signed up for the marines before I becamce a witness and was 2 days away from boot camp when I learned all the bs about the military and how they treat pawns soilders which made me change my mind.
Are you serious? So where am I wrong in my assumption, LOL. You pussied out and realize with 2 days to ship out to boot camp, LOL, that you were going to be ordered around by drill instructors as they see fit? And then you became a witness and you couldn't see thru that BS? That's your fucking choice, albeit a little slow in the decision process. And I garauntee you wouldn't say that to any soldier's face. Your E- BALLS don't count in the real world.
Or you can just leave and go back to whatever gutter trash third world country you came from and try to make that better. The last thing we need here is more dumb gun happy soilders killing inocennt people.
This right here has to be the most asinie comment I've read so far in the past year in all of the forums I'm a member of. You're propably the most ignorant person I've dealt with on the net. You don't make generalizations? So let me get this straight. According to your logic, every soldier is "dumb gun happy killing innocent people"?
Again, you've proved my point, you idiot.
To everyone else-
My intention of starting this thread was to ask for advice on how to approach CO subject, not if I should serve in the military. If you want to keep posting your anti-military comments labling me as the worst of the worst, I'll respond in kind. That's all.
here's my situation.

CYBER JESUS-
HOLY JUMPING JEHOVAH! Are we lacking reading comprehension or what?
You can be a tree hugging anti war hippie for all I know, but if you have some insight regarding this subject without letting your emotions run wild screaming @ everyone who wants to serve in the military a so called " baby killer", then I gladly listen to ya'. It's that simple.
I don't know how to make this any clearer.
And to all of those with the kind comments, thanks. But, I'll wait and see when I'm in front of MEPS, pass the screening, boot camp and AIT before I pat myself on the back. :) It's one thing wanting to serve, but hopefully I'm allowed to.
BTW- Very good info regarding the draft. I only can imagine what my father-in-law had to deal with when he was in prison for 13 months durng the Veitnam war.

For all of those who continue with the "bashing" for my choice to serve...... F**k OFF.....
At 32 years of age, family man and rased in this country for most of my life, I'm well aware of the sacrafice I will have to make when I do sign up, including the deployment over seas.
I can see years of Watchtower indoctrination still haunts some of you with your hasty generalizations and quick to judge attitude.
Yes, I do belive I can contribute more to this coutry serving as a soldier, 1st. And due to mechanical/electrical background, coupled with my test scores and the amount of education I have under my belt, I'll be able to do something I'll enjoy and be challenged at the same time.
UNfortunately, going over my paperwork, I did declare as CO on my initial application and interveiw for citizenship. I belive there is a paper trial despite taking the unmodified oath. The reason being, if I do sign up, it could bite me in the ass when signing up for an MOS with security clearance. And not the mention, that it could be reason for an honorable discharge and can persecuted by law.

SLIMBOYFAT-
I know it's not for everyone, and hell, all I know it might not be for me. But, instead of listening to everyone else against or for it, I rather roll up my sleeves and do my part. That's my choice and if every thing goes according to plan, I hope to be in basic by then end of 2010 and followed up with AIT by this time next year.
Whether this conflict is just or not, I can't overlook that something needs to be done, even though the best approach of occupying a nation to protect our interest is in question, we'll find out in the history books down the road.
Till then, I hope my country allows me to serve.

Pretty sure I'm shoe in, EXCEPT for a minor detail.
I was a raised a Jehovah's witness as a child and left the religion in my mid 20's. Even when I was brought up in that silly cult, I had a passion for the military and it was hard to walk past the recruiter when my 18th birthday came around and the thought haunted me everyday about the "what if's".
At a point in my life, I believed in this crap, being that I was raised as one since childhood with NO freedom to think for myself and forced to be baptized as a witness at the age of 15.
The cult's propaganda was deep seeded into my thoughts, even when I went to become a naturalized citizen in my 20's, I applied under the "modified OATH" tailored for the witnesses.
Thankfully, I "woke up" before making that horrible mistake and became a citizen with the complete unwavering allegiance and loyalty to the United State. Probably, one of the best days of my life (at least in the top 5).
Now on the questionnaire, it clearly states if you EVER HAVE claim to be a conscientious objector, and obviously I stated YES.
But my recruiter is really bustin' my balls about changing this to no, due to the fact that there's a waiver involved, so on and so forth. In a nut shell, it might throw a monkey wrench in the situation!
I have no criminal record of any kind and considered myself a law abiding citizen and rather NOT lie about my past.
Now what's the deal involved regarding a waiver about my former religion that I have no affiliation with? Can this minor thing be a deal breaker here?
Does anyone have any experience or advice?
This Future 15 tango for the army reserves really needs some right now. MEPS might be this week!
