Thank you Ynot! layout was a little confusing @ the jwn. Geof jackson it is. There's an older pic of himmler with a similar hair line, having the 2 side by side, you'd think they were brothers...

If it takes the load of your chest by writing a DA letter, that's fantastic. Different strokes for different folks...

What good would a DA letter do?
by dogon ini have long thought of doing this, but could never see any good it would do except make me feel good for a few seconds.
i also feel that when you do this you let them win.
they always say that we told you so, or now he is gone and our congregation is clean bla bla bla.

Hmm, last I remember there was no official rule with dealing with someone who just stop coming or "fading". When you realize that there's nothing that you owe them or that they have on you, why entertain the idea of still participating in the game by writing DA letter? I completely understand for the sake of making a statement or mentally purging, but at least for me it was a simple stop thinking, associating, attending anything JW.

The only CO I enjoyed listening to went by the last name, SEALY (sp?). The guy would get soo animated in his talks and at some points yell at the top of his lungs, talking about getting tarred and feathered to having a gang beat the shit out of him during 40's or 50's for spreading the "good news".It was a riot!
Never was motivated by any CO to got out or to reach out... -

I do. But since then, the couple went through a divorce (I believe if not before, right after getting re-instated) and the ex-wife ended up publicly denouncing the Borg and became baptist, rejecting anything that has to do with her former life as a witness, and I believe that includes her family, which at the time the local jw's made her to be a some sort of looney tune..
It was only after finding out the truth regarding the organization, I realized she wasn't really kooky after all. -

My post was in response to Old hippie's statement, regarding that these experiences posted in this thread are fabricated. Hence the reason why I quoted his post in my last response.
I don't know how much clearer I have to be. I had some fun with a network of friends in circuit in my late teens till I was 21, which included married couples. Of course, some felt guilty and confessed. A few weeks later, I'm being drilled in JC divulging specific details of who participated and what acts were performed. Any normal NON-jw would look at this as having fun, which I do know.
Mentally, I'm fine, thanks for asking lol. But at the moment, after receiving my "loving" treatment from my local elders, it took quite a few years to get over it.
