I already have German WTLIB 2008. IMHO it's exactly the version as 2007, only with the new publications included and purple instead of blue startup screen.

2008 WT Library Question (1st JWN posting too!)
by yknot inokay, i haven't been really paying attention to all the letters read to the congregation in the last two month.. this week it was some stupid announcement about mandarin chinese and the keep book being mp3 audio-ed on jw.org (if a publisher is computer illiterate, a cd can be ordered from the organization-but a brother who is tech savvy should offer to burn one instead of incurring cost to the slave).. then i realize i haven't heard squat about the 2008 wt library (cd or dl?)..
so i just checked my 07 wtcd and we have daily texts until the week of march 5, 2009 feb 26, 2009.. does anyone have any info on the 2008 wt library?.
is it going to be a dl or cd?.

km 9/02 p. 8 Avoid the Pursuit of "Valueless Things " ***1
One popular means of communication today is E-mail. Although sharing personal experiences and thoughts among family and friends through this medium may be appropriate, what "valueless things" can be associated with the unrestricted use of E-mail?—Prov. 12:11.
2
Cautions Regarding E-Mail: Some claim to feel more in touch with Jehovah’s organization when they receive what they consider to be fresh information via E-mail. This may include experiences, notes on events at Bethel, reports of disasters or persecution, and even confidential information released at Kingdom Ministry Schools. Others seem overly eager to send such messages, hoping to be the first to reveal the information to their friends.3
At times, information and experiences have been distorted or exaggerated. Or perhaps in an effort to be sensational, some have conveyed a false impression. Those who are hasty to reveal such matters often do not have all the facts. (Prov. 29:20) In some cases, even when a story is unbelievable, it is passed on as a curiosity. Such inaccurate or misleading reports amount to "false stories," which do not promote genuine godly devotion.—1 Tim. 4:6, 7.4
If you forward information that turns out to be inaccurate, you bear a measure of responsibility for the sorrow or confusion this can cause. When David received an exaggerated report that all his sons had been killed, he "ripped his clothes apart" in anguish. However, in truth, only one of his sons had died. That was distressing enough, but this exaggeration caused David added distress. (2 Sam. 13:30-33) Surely we would not want to do anything that would mislead or discourage any of our brothers.5 God’s Appointed Channel: Bear in mind that our heavenly Father has an appointed channel of communication, "the faithful and discreet slave." That "slave" has the responsibility to determine what information is made available to the household of faith, as well as "the proper time" for it to be dispensed. This spiritual food is available only through the theocratic organization. We should always look to God’s appointed channel for reliable information, not to a network of Internet users.—Matt. 24:45.
6 Internet Web Sites: We have an official Internet Web site: www.watchtower.org. This site is adequate to make information available to the public. There is no need for any individual, committee, or congregation to prepare a Web page about Jehovah’s Witnesses. Some have posted the contents of our publications with all scriptures and references given in full and have even offered copies of convention material on a donation basis. Whether profit is involved or not, the practice of reproducing and distributing publications of Jehovah’s Witnesses in an electronic document is a violation of copyright laws. While some may view this as a service to the brothers, it is not approved and should be discontinued.
7 Exercising good judgment and soundness of mind when using electronic communication will ensure that our minds are filled with "precious and pleasant things of value."—Prov. 24:4.

What was said about Earth, Wind and Fire?
by Vachi 8 He Is ini remember being in my dub uncles friends car when e,w & f came on and he goes "don't let your unc know you heard this song".
i didn't ask why at the time, but then some years later i hear again that dubs have something against e, w & f. (not that they don't have something against anyone who isn't one of them) but what went on between the two groups?

John Denver kicked all the Witnesses out of his concert
AFAIK he wanted to play some patriotic song, maybe the National Anthem or something like that, and said: "If Jehovahs Witnesses are here, it would be a good time for them to go out and get something to drink".
I heard a similar story about Chris de Burgh, saying that he wanted to use magic to make a piano play by itself, but it didn't work. So he concluded that there must have been JWs among the audience, sent them out, and then it worked. But that urban legend seems to go back to the John Denver incident.

Awaken in Gilead wrote on May 26th:
I like the point that Plasma is 90% water. This means that JWs should reject water since it is a component of blood. No more water for me, I don't want to become bloodguilty, lol.
That inspired me to write an article for my German magazine "Unser Kuerbisreichsdienst" (meaning "Our Pumpkin Ministry", sounds similar to "Our Kingdom Ministry" in German). I translated it into English for those who are interested
Respect God’s view of blood even more correctly
The Watchtower wrote “that the Bible command ‘abstain from blood’ rules out transfusions of whole blood or its primary components (plasma, red cells, white cells, and platelets)” (page 30). Yes, sincere Christians know that blood “is holy” (Deut. 26:13). Never would it come to their mind to use one of the primary components of blood for anything.
Now, it is time to examine this timeless principle in more detail. The Watchtower from June 15th 2004 said that blood plasma “is 90 percent water” (page 30). Since plasma makes approx. 55 percent of the whole blood, blood is made up of about 50 percent water - more then red cells, white cells, and platelets together! Thus, there can be no doubt that water must be considered as the fifth primary component of blood; strictly speaking, it is THE primary component.
For some, it may be challenging to abstain from water. But there are numerous substitutes, like beer or vodka. As sincere servants of God, we will conscientiously ask if those alternative drinks were made without addition of water, and better abstain from drinking in case of doubt.
Some may argue that drinking water was not obtained from blood. But that is not true, because through the great hydrologic cycle, all water on earth gets continuously cleaned and recycled (Eccl. 1:7). Thus, the water that is sold as drinking water today may have been a primary component of blood in former times. We should keep in mind the command: “Quit touching the unclean thing” (2. Cor. 6:17)!
Some people use water also for washing themselves. But Jesus stated clearly that washing is a pagan practice, a tradition of the scribes and Pharisees (Mark 7:3, 4). Those said to him: “Why is it your disciples overstep the tradition of the men of former times? For example, they do not wash” (Mat. 15:1, 2). As Christians, we want to follow their example by not abusing water for washing.
Without doubt, that will bring us God’s blessing. Shortly, we will make “the odor of the knowledge of him perceptible through us in every place” (2. Cor. 2:14). Yes, we will recognize each other by our smell, thus being “a sweet odor of Christ among those who are being saved”. “Among those who are perishing” - the worldlings - however, we will be like “an odor issuing from death to death” (2. Cor. 2:15,1 6). It will be easy to notice the difference “between one serving God and one who has not served him” (Mal. 3:18). Are we not happy about the privilege to fulfil these prophecies?
The “faithful and discreet slaves” commands us: “Abstain from blood! Abstain from water! Go preaching and diffuse the fragrance of the knowledge of God! Probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah’s anger” (compare Zeph. 2:3)!

Hi,
I'm writer of a German satiric "magazine" called "Erbrechet!". This means "Vomit!", but sounds similar to "Erwachet!" which is the German title of "Awake!" magazine.
The latest edition contains an article about carnival celebrations - that drinking alcohol, eating fat diet and having unmarried sex are actually biblical requirements. I translated this article and wanted to share it with you:
