i just recently downloaded the newest version of wt library cd-rom (2010).
but wt's only go back as far as 1950, and awakes 1970.. is anybody aware of a database or piece of software which allows you access to old wt's of russell's day or other older jw publications?.
any help would be greatly appreciated!!!.
I also want to add http://wtarchive.svhelden.info. If you need some special publication which is not listed there, just mail me (to the address stated on the website), maybe I have it too.
according to 'bigboards' there are more visitors to this site from germany than from the uk, canada and australia combined.
you'd never think it from the posters.
don't know how accurate the stats are though.. http://www.big-boards.com/board/323/ .
I'm from Germany!
i was reading a article about a national acclaim charles lummis for.
his poetry.
in 1884, while working at a newspaper in ohio, he was offered.
Don't forget that according to the Bible, there was ONE "private place ... outside the camp" where they were allowed to ease nature. If there really were 3 million people plus their flocks, the camp might have had a diameter between 30 and 100 kilometers. That means that the walk from their tents to the privy might have taken hours, day or even weeks every time.
BTW, what about this one?
an illustration from a WT pamphlet on an album cover
I know only this one, but it is not from the 80s but rather from 2010. And not an actual WT cover but simply copying the style:
You find a good photo of the cover here:

BTW, it seems that the album is from 1968, so it can't be a joke about 1975.

i know that the failed predictions of amageddon for 1914, 1918, 1925, during wwii, and 1975 have been well documented here and other places, but are there any [documented] 'prophesies' that actually came true?.
dc.
Sorry Processor, but that prophecy came from the "Marconi wireless experts," not the Watchtower
As if they had invented their other prophecies by themselves ;) All copied from adventists, from George Storrs, later stolen from spiritist Johannes Greber ...
... but you're right, of ccourse.

There was ONE prophecy that came true ;)
The Golden Age, October 15, 1919:
Today there are "wireless telephone systems making long-distance conversation possible to any part of the world". Still, this is not available "at nominal cost", but wait another 10 years and we'll have that.
So, the prophecy was fulfilled, and here we see clearly what the WTS means with "in a very few years, at most".
