  As someone noted in the German forum: The Witchtower is "based on God's word" too. So, according to the new Watchtower, it is "from Jehovah."

  Did the WT totally "luck out" with World War I starting in 1914?

  my family is still fixated on the 1914 date, simply because world war i started that year.. i told them i will agree it is a significant year in world history, but that the 1914 date as presented by jw's is based on lies and charlatanry.. i said "i think the wt really lucked out with 1914 with wwi starting that year - it keeps most jw's stuck on that date" .

  the standard answer is "well, that was the year everything went haywire"...... let the circular reasoning continue .

  According to JW doctrine, Jesus was enthroned in OCTOBER 1914, AFTER what he cast out Satan from heaven, AFTER what Satan misled mankind to make war. Unfortunately, World War I already started in JULY 1914.

  Besides, they foretold Armageddon for 1914, not a war. When Armageddon didn't come in 1914, they changed it to "soon after 1914" and "1915".

  I think it was not before 1925 that they "found" that in 1914, 1914 was enthroned in heaven.

  So, yes, they were just lucky. They foretold things for 1874, 1878, 1879, 1881, 1884, 1914 and so on ... in ONE of these years, SOMETHING happened, though something totally different that they had foretold.

  Revised "United in Worship" bapitism studybook leaves out Chapter on Blood!! Why?

  remeber the blue book studied just before baptism?

  the new revised version came out in 2002 with two major chapters being deleted..... 1980 - united in worship.

  chapter 19 - what does the mosaic law mean to you?.

  The book "Worship the True God" was meant as addition to the Knowledge book - which already covered the blood subject in chapter 13.

  No typos or grammatical errors ever????

  seems to me that, despite the fact that the content of the wts literatrash is crap, i've never seen a typo or grammatical error in the lit.

  anybody ever noticed this or ever found instances of errors?

  and, if there are no errors, how do they manage that?

  I never found a typo, but sometimes I read the English and German Watchtower and found translation errors. I don't remember the exact issue, but one edition said a certain distance was "around XXX kilometers" while the other language called it "nearly XXX kilometers". There were also some passages where the meaning of the German sentence was totally different than the English one, e. g. by a missing "not" or confusing two similar words.
