Hi Hortensia, I've got a new grandaughter due to arrive April 11, but it seems she may come early. So I'll let you know. Also Sooner's little boy who is such a whiz kid in class is my precious grandson.I also have a 10 month old grandaughter named Chloe. Hope you don't mind this old grandma bragging a little bit.

How do you leave?
by helenhall inwhen every single person you know is a witness, how do you leave?

Hi Helen, and welcome. As for how to leave, well I decided not long ago that I could'nt stand it anymore so started fading away by missing meetings and not going in service. That way it's not as noticeable and the elders won't bother you.At least they have'nt bothered me.I still don't have many friends and my mother still can't figure out what is wrong with me but it is so much better than going all the time, knowing that you really don't want to be there. So take it slow and be sure of what you want because there will be alot of changes in your life.

How did you find this site?
by truthseeker init seems as though an age has passed from discovering this site seven years ago to where i am now.
just before we started studying the daniel's prophecy book, i went online to see if anyone had made a study bookmark with the dates and paragraphs on.
i "stumbled" across this site, way back in 2000. of course, like a good christian i pretty much determined that this site had gone apostate from the other jw sites, such.

I found this site thru my dear son who was trying to help his Mom see the light.Little did he know that I was already coming around to what JW'S are really all about. But this has helped me tremendously in making my decision to fade away and start living my life. Plus I've made really good friends here.

Hey Marsha, If you really are planning on getting baptised pretty soon then you really don't need to be here on this site for most all of us are fading away or df,s. If the elders find out you are visiting this site then they will not allow you to be baptised. That's part of the control they feel they have over people we can't freely explore other options, always have to do things in secret. Not finding fault with you at all, just giving some friendly advice.

When you went out in field service
by megaflower inhow often did you have to talk yourself into going out?.
how often did you wait till the end of the month to get some time in?.
how often did you fudge your time?.

I never liked field service ever. Always had to make myself go and ALWAYS hoped no one was home when it was my turn. It was the most nerve racking thing I've ever had to do. I guess part of the reason it was so hard was because even way back I did'nt truly believe what I was out there telling the people. Oh maybe a few times I thought I believed it but deep down I know I didn't.So, I haven't been out in service in about 4 years and the only thing I miss is------------- could'nt think of anything.

Amazing abuse of privacy...
by CaptainSchmideo inmy sister and her husband live in another city/state from me, so i don't get to see them that often.
he's a ministerial servant, they have two young children.
i heard a story that happened to them recently.... he was taken aside by an elder, who wanted to inspect his bag to see how many toys they were bringing to the meeting for their daughter to play with.. apparently, someone complained!.

First of all, this elder would not have been allowed in my bookbag and if he tried anyway, he would have been singing VERY HIGH when the meeting started. No won der so many kids grow up wanting to leave this mess.

Who's Going to the Memorial Tonight?
by daniel-p inok everyone, who has to go to the memorial tonight?
check in here, state the reason you have to go, and when you get back, let us know how it went and your impressions.
for me, i have to go for my family--since i'm doing the fade i figure it won't kill me to go.

I went to the Memorial. We had attendence of about 230. I could'nt believe sooner's comment about the woman who had just lost her son in a car wreck that morning. It's insane to think you'd feel so obligated to go at a time like that. But maybe hearing the talk helped her. Who knows. We are all different and have to respect what others do even though to us it seems like crap.
