Why do Ex-JWs start celebrating pagan Christmas?
by DubR inhiya guys and gals.
im not trying to be self-righteous but i want to understand the thought process of someone who knows the origins of christmas, but starts celebrating it (putting up christmas tree, exchanging wrapped gifts; repeating merry christmas to everyone they see in the month of december)??
it seems very silly to me (imo) after knowing how and why christmas was created (to cater to pagans sun worship and convert to christianity)!!

Reasonably, what difference does it really make what the origin is of Christmas or any holiday, it is what the motive is for why a person is doing it now. So what if Nimrod killed men on his birthday, that does not mean that I will celebrate birthdays along with the act of killing men or women. It boils down to the fact that a Stupid Ass named Joseph Rutherford, had a plan to create rules for a cult, without rules all encompassing rules , you can’t control their rank and file. What is so wrong with deciding for yourself what your conscious will allow you to do or not do in worshiping of your god? I feel that I was a Stupid Ass to have let anyone, religion or otherwise Dictate To Me and my family what I will or will not do in my personal life, besides I have deprived my daughters of many happy times looking forward to Christmas just being together with pretty lights and goodies, even if I can’t afford all kinds presents I can afford togetherness and memories, and a nip of cheer.

The Christian Congregation Oh really?
by Leprechaun ini felt that they the governing body, was busting my balls each and every time they said referring to themselves: gods spirit directed organization, which incidentally is the same as calling them selfs with such arrogance the christian congregation.
i think these are croaking sounds as spoken through the book of revelation maybe.
they use these tearms as though no one else on planet earth is ever spirit directed, in any manor shape or form.

Well, about ten years ago after being disfellowshipped and feeling lower then snakes in ass in a wagon tract; I typed in the search bar “Jehovah help me” and the old site popped up. This site has been a blessing ever since in so many different ways.

Isn’t it awful what a cult can do to our sense of well being. Please do this and give yourself some peace of mind this holiday season, spend fifty bucks and go to almost any attorney and simply ask them to type out a letter from their office requesting the elders or any other representative of the Watchtower Society to hence forth cease any and all contact with you. The attorneys office send will send the letter by return receipt, if they come to your door before they receive this cease and desist letter” from your attorney, simply give them one of his business cards and close the door. I guarantee you will have no further problems. Merry Christmas!

Many advices are needed! No prudes are allowed here, please. Thank you!
by asilentone inwell, let me tell you about my experience in dating a married woman about a year ago or so, i was dating a married woman, she did not tell me that she was married, but i found about it and i told her that i know that she is married, then she decided not to see me.
she is really hot.
well recently, i learned that my recent date is actually married, but she is also really hot, should i keep my mouth shut not telling her that i know that she is married, so i can keep the relationship with her, i would not mind because i really like her..

Yeah, I went ten years after my divorce dating, it was easy to date one women then the other the next night or have two or three in bed at once, but once I knew the women was married I managed to back off gracefully and still be friends in the night club. This is coming from a guy who has been with so many women that I really cannot even begin to count them. There’s too many women who are single out there why lose your class and break up some family, dude.

As A Witness Did You Typically Feel Guilty?
by minimus ini believe the way the organization keeps many people in its clutches is by means of guilt.
no one can adhere to all of the theocratic rules of the organization and they know that.
i believe jws do things to ease their consciences.

Yeah, everyday felt pretty much the same as it did, while in my fourth grade class I had to say NO to Santa, when he gave me a little sack full of yummies for Christmas. What a bunch of BS to do to a little kid.

Um, it sure sounds like you got your hands full with a manipulative and I am sure over bearing wife. On a side note, I feel most Jehovah’s Witness women are as controlling as their religion, by virtue of the fact there is so many do’s and don’ts as members, that you have to full fill. Just stop and think of all the Society’s rules for husbands, (taking the lead in family study door to door activity and blah blah blah…) what ever happened to coming home and resting on a weekend with your family and enjoying each other. If you don’t want to have this religion controlling your life any more hold to your guns, it may well be the most beneficial thing you have ever done for your marriage. Be true to thy self".
