Even if no one has any babies, I still don't think there's enough room on the planet for everyone who ever lived to inhabit it at once. That is the belief, right?? Hell, there's barely enough room for all of us now! Oh, right, I forgot, all the big land holders will have their property broken up and distributed equally. Also, people will live in the desert and on the polar ice caps as well. Maybe there won't be any oceans...I guess if there weren't any large bodies of water MAYBE everyone who ever live could fit....

If you look in the concordance of any KJV Bible under "paradise" you'll see it is referenced a whopping THREE times- that's throughout the entirety of the Bible! If it's so danged important, why only three times? Look up "Heaven" and there are pages and pages of entires- I didn't see the exact number, but safe to say at least a hundred references.

My Fiancé Can No Longer Talk to Me Because She is Becoming a JW
by reekster ini've been with someone for over ten years.
sounds like a long time to be engaged, but we were perfectly happy with the arrangement, knowing that some of the circumstances in each of our lives needed to be worked out before we could marry.
one day she told me that she wanted to investigate the jws.

This sucks for you, dude. My husband has been trucking with the dubs, too and it's horrid. I've tried many different tacks with him, but haven't been able to convince him to cut ties with them. If you think you have a real chance at saving her, go for it, but be prepared for heartache and disappointment. Unfortunately I think Steve2 has a great point- at least this happened before you two were married. With her in the dubs and you out it could equal a life of hellish torment trying to save her- believe me, I know. If her folks are dubs she's probably not going to back out of the cult, and probably it was their influence that sent her into the organization when she move back in with them. Pray for yourself and her, and continue to study.

Should I register to vote?

If you want to, go for it. Here in Texas it is very easy to register, usually do it when you renew a driver's license. Like Chick said, you have plenty of time to research the candidates. By November it'll just be two of 'em, and if you know your own mind you'll likely be able to choose without too much difficulty. I have voted in every presidential election since I was 18, and can't imagine being told by the church not to do so. I feel strongly about this election, because I beleive it is one of the most important ones we've had in many years now. Take your time, do the research and vote for the candidate of your choice!

Rapunzel- Great comments. I was surprised to find out recently how many of the Bible's stories and people appear in the Qu'ran.

Is Disfellowshipping Scripturally Proper, In Your Opinion?
by minimus indo you believe that the method jehovah's witnesses use to shun a person is founded from the bible and christianity?
-
potentialJWconvertswife
Summer- Thank you, that is the exact scripture to which I was referring. Minimus, does this Cor. description fit disfellowshipping? I realize they take it to the extreme, but isn't that how most of the JW belief system is? They take a verse and pervert and twist it to fit their own meanings, from what I can see...

New Update On Hubby - He said he doesn't care what the society says about..
by cognac inpeople being destroyed at the big a. i told him how tramatic it was for me that i was told basically just everyone would die around me would die... that the days would be just as in noah's day and in the "my book of bible stories" there was even a baby would die and that my mom said that even babies would die at a because jehovah new that they would grow up to be just like there parents... i told him that the society said this also and this is probably where my mom got it from.... he said, "i don't care what the society says, jehovah is loving and our loving god will judge us the way that he wants and not the societys way.
then he just held me and said to pretend i was that little 6 year old and he said, "now, your mom is telling you that jehovah loves everyone and will save everyone he can, just not really evil people... he loves you and everybody very, very much...".
i fell asleep last night for the very first time knowing that somebody i love and that's close to me was on my side with this issue and against the society on this... it just took yet another huge weight off me... .

What a wonderful thing for him to do for you! Your hubby basically walked you through something similar to what a counselor would have done for you. Very positive! Glad that you're feeling so secure, and that you two are together in your thinking- that's HUGE. :)

I don't think Abbadon is any kind of manifestation, an attendant at the hospital brought Hurley to him. I didn't take Abbadon as trying to find out what was happening on the island, but rather, he was asking Hurley those questions to try to pique his interest, start him thinking about going back. Remember, Charlie took the same tack- telling Hurley "they" need him. Hurley definitely has some kind of 6th sense going on- he did see the cabin and whoever was in it with Locke. John was very surprised when Hurley said the cabin was back the other way in the last episode. I'm still not sure Jack's dad is alive, although that was an odd remark in the hospital...maybe it was just drunk talk. Now how about last week's episode with Sayid as a hired gun working for Ben????

Do any other religions believe in the way that the JW's do about blood transfusions? Mormons? Muslims? I've heard the Muslims let their meat bleed out onto the ground at the place where it's slaughtered. A friend said she used to raise goats out near Houston, and she said some Muslim folks would go out and buy her goats, but they had to string up in a tree and slit their throats and let 'em bleed out before leaving with them. She stopped selling to Muslims, 'cause she couldn't handle all that mess. The point is, although the Muslims obviously adhere to the scripture about not eating blood, do they allow transfusions?
