  I had no idea. This is incredibly sad. Not only for those experiencing it, but also for all of America, because our media isn't covering this. I've harped for years about the poor coverage of the Iraq war and how if we were shown more about what goes on there there would be such an outrage from the common folks war would be over! Think about Vietnam- I was only a kid at that time, but I remember seeing images of soldiers in the field EVERY night on the news. Disgusting. As Oldflame said, billions on the never ending war, but not a crumb for those in desperate need. -Potential

  How Many Here Are Born Again Christians Now?

  just wondering how many ex -jw's have become born again christians and whether or not this happened while you were still in the wt organization?

  also, what is your experience now with god and christ?

  ** please non-believers, lets not use this thread to bash christianity again, or do the whole is there god/not god discussion all over again.

  Well, as you know, I never was a dub. But I am and have been a born again Christian for many years. I am thankful that some of those of you who were "in" weren't so bitter about the experience that you couldn't believe in God any longer. I know some of the folks here have become atheists because of the negative effects of the cult, and to me that is the worst damage of all. PTL that y'all have found the real truth in Jesus!   after several years 'out' i can't be the only one who still gets a bit pissed off to hear 'oh so clever' apostates slagging off jw's for being dumb, stupid and worse.

  grow up!

  the beliefs of jehovah's witnesses are certainly stupid but then i'd say the same for all christian belief just as many of you might condemn my atheistic, evolutionary postion as being nonsense.

  I have never thought of the witnesses as stupid. Actually, it's pretty ingenious the way they go about recruiting. I don't feel they are ignorant either, because they are not ALLOWED to investigate outside of the org. I'm sure there probably are stupid individuals in the org, as there are probably stupid individuals in any group or religion. (Let's face it- stupid people are everywhere!) If anything perhaps unfortunately gullible? Labeling an entire group is a form of prejudice. -Potential

  March 08 KM - Jesus is not Saviour?

  in the special box in the march 2008 km, the last sentence says something about "jehovah, our saviour.".

  i guess this is a confirmation of that isolated 1979 article which shows that the "great crowd" do not have any particular relationship with jesus.

  does anyone have a scan of this km?..

  That is one of the scriptures that the trinitarians use to show proof of the trinity. Jesus cannot be Saviour unless he is one and the same as God.

  VM- The only emphasis on Jehovah in the new testament appears ONLY in the NWT. You see, Jehovah is a Hebrew name. The NT is written in Greek, therefore the name Jehovah does not EVER appear in the NT in any other translation. The WT added it for whatever reason they change/alter any scripture in the Bible.

  i'm sure that the topic of armageddon has risen it's ugly head before but can anyone out there tell me when the armaggedon will happen (try to be precise please otherwise to me as a non-believer it will look like you're guessing) and has anyone got any concrete evidence of why and how it will happen?

  black pudding ?

  whilst befriending the jw family who introduced me to all this, they told me about the blood transfusion issues which i knew already, however i am very partial to consuming black pudding (blood sausage to americans) with my breakfast, although i have not had any since my outlook altered i was just wondering if it is ethical to consume such a culinary delight without any implications.
