i thought about this years ago..... so, if the "tree of knowledge of good and bad" really represented jah's "universal sovereignty", why not just call it the "tree of god's universal sovereignty"?

Yeah it's like God placing this tree in the centre of the garden with a big neon sign above it saying "do not touch" *blink* blink* blink* ...
Then when they did eat from the darn tree God jumps from behind a bush shouting "gotcha!" (*) and punishing them for something they couldn't have known was 'bad' in the first place as they lacked such knowledge, hence the tree's name.

Not only does it help insiders to do research when having doubts, it also prevents a lot of people from getting suckered in. When we encounter something new what is the first thing one does? "Let's see what I can find on the net". People will get scared when they see al the garbage.
It severely limits their 'potential converts' pool. I think that is an even greater threat than educating those already in. It stuns their growth and forces them to look elsewhere (ie 3 world countries)

i do not know what's going on and, quite frankly, i don't care to.
perhaps there is bliss in ignorance.
I avoid those flamewars and politics like the plague. They are timeconsuming and frustrating. Avoiding them helps me to approach people 'fresh' without an entire truckload of squables that are history anyway and didn't effect me.

since the jws main mission in their miserable lives is to 'preach the good news of the kingdom', why is is that there is really no means to interact with the wts website?.
certainly, many pioneers could be engaged in the activity of answering the many enquiries that would be directed through such an 'official' discussion board, and it would definitely be a means for the pioneers of accumulating many precious hours of witnessing to those 'hungering for the truth'.. surely the society couldn't believe that such a site would be inundated with doubting and disgruntled individuals with an 'axe to grind' with them.
i am sure that there would be many members here who would have many sincere enquiries to make with the society, without wanting to disrupt, or harass.

Yes, no discussion board. Why? Simple : discussions are not allowed. They have The Truth(tm) the only Truth(tm) and nothing but The Truth(tm). Didn't you know that? ;o)
They also lack an email-adress! A website without an e-mail adress is too silly for words!
Funny thing is that this actually works against them on many fronts, consider this:
* Usually e-mail is relative anonymous, fast and easy. Who in his right mind gives an anonymous organisation his personal details? So that they can send someone to your house? Riiiiight. That gets way to personal for people who's only purpose is some information.
* The information that is on the website is not updated regularly, resulting in lots of embarrassing old light which can be used to confront them.
* The information on the site is pretty dumbed down, giving the org a silly outlook.
Not a good witness so to speak eh?

Ps the do have an e-mail adress ofcourse, they just don't list it. It is [email protected] when I tried to e-mail them I got a reply stating "please do not send e-mails but apply for a visit blah blah blah"
