my son (18) has given his letter of disassociation to the elders , and it will be announced tomorrow night.i disassociated myself last year but i have never encouraged my son to do so.
he has not done it earlier for personal reasons, though he would have liked to as he really hates them even more than me, and believe me he has very good reasons.
my son was one of the most active young ones in the congregation..he gave so much for this organization...so it was unbelievable the way he was treated in time of test.what an example of ungratefulness and a total lack of love on the part of the jw.

my little protest on how elders treat women in jc's (see the flock book regarding thongs) .
(sorry, changed the post from one that was about michael jackson to this one.... i thought that the mj one was a bit too mean) .

Elsewere:
Many elders will ask a woman if she was wearing a thong when some form of "misconduct" occurred. If the woman was wearing a thong, they will construe it as evidence of intent to commit the "misconduct". In the world of JWs, wearing a thong = wanting to be immoral. This is especially true for single sister, who have no business being sexual.
Unbelievable!!!! OMG!

evidently, even the muslim's have a serious problem with the dubs.. http://64.4.32.251/cgi-bin/linkrd?_lang=en&lah=a86af9354388f5195d213af8c11f6aac&lat=1044389330&hm___action=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2ejamaat%2enet%2fcomp%2fjw%2fjw%2ehtml
Muslims would do well to closely examing their holybook. It is full of fairytails just like the bible.
i do like this site though: the scan a very good: high quality!!

p31 at the back has another go at the internet.
it also takes a swipe at other sources of info - other than them, of course!.
"Internet access is of course a matter of conscience but due to the dangers easily found online such as pornography and apostacy many mature Witnesses have decided not to have internet access in their homes."
This is very likely the way they would put it. But it won't help much, they tried the same with TV calling it the devil's eyeball. did it work?
I wouldn't put it past them to start withholding "priveleges" from those who have net access.
Nah, too hard to check.
Those of us who want accurate information have to establish that our source is reliable.
I certainly hope they will. start at the source of the information you are reading now. This is religious information that could be the difference between life and death. better be sure it is accurate by 'reading widely'. I think when readers really folow the advice in this piece, the WT is shooting itself in the foot.
I am interested in the site reflected in this guys glasses, could it be us? That would be fun! or maybe it is watchtower.org!!

new light?
the oldies who can't attend the memorial can now stay home and get it delivered.
my gut feeling is that this is a sneaky way of confirming to the r&f that annointed are old... like the r&f are going to waste precious ink asking these sorts of questions - they're more likely to be asking: "should we call the police up on the child-molesting po in our congregation?
Strange how we never get THOSE QFRs!
I gave up long ago on the notion that they are from readers. I think it should be called Questions From Writers. New light is usually shed after a question from a "reader". My guess is that when they want to change minor details like in the blood question they think up a question dealing with the issue and sneak the new light in. Often they do not mention that it is new light and a reversal of old policy.

things you will learn from a dog:
never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.
allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
Funny thread, but I like Cats better. Way more independent than dogs. True individuals.
Oh and you forgot one thing:
When having sex do it doggy-style.

have you ever had that you couldnt sleep at night and that your mind starts racing thoughts?
i had one of those nights and this is basically the fruit of it.
is god an imaginary friend?
This thread surely took off!
Great links and material folks! It is a shame though that certain people (not pointing any fingers) try to reason from ignorance. As a former JW I know how science and evolution were mocked and wrongly represented. When I was JW I found it ridiculous for people to believe such drivel. Can you imaging what is was like for me to study biology at university and see what evolution was really about? To taste science? The overwhelming evidence? Anybody here on this board knows the results from listening only to one side of the story (think the society). one should never revert back to dogmatism to defend views. Especially US should be openminded, always being prepared to investigate new views and evidence.
If you want to discuss scientific issues it would be very advisable to first read up to all sides of the matter before venting any opinions or even conclusions. A good starting point would be basic logic, the very cornerstone of science. This will make you critical and it would be less easy to fall in really very common falacies. And it will be easier to defend your position too. What your conclusion will be afterwards doesn't really matter to me. As long as your opinion and conclusions are informed ones.
