after i came back for down under this jan. i gathered up all my j-dud literature except my indexes, bound volumes, insight and aid books.
these i wanted to use for references.
i took the rest out to the dumpster behind my office and filled the thing!
I have the CD-ROM for references and some stuff that is not on the CD. The rest is happely tossed out of the window after being 'redecorated' so nobody will read it and fall for it. I can already picture it:
'How did you came into the truth?'
'Well I was walking in the street minding my own buisiness, when al of a sudden an aid book falls from heaven and hitting me unconscience. Slowly coming to my senses, head still spinning I start reading the stuff and all of a sudden it all made sense! It was truly a blessing from 'hovah'

YES Viv, I missed you, but I think I have time to reload
Honestly, I missed you alot!
I hope there will be an easy solution to your problem so we can enjoy "the continued adventures of Vivamus: Vivamus visiting granny in the big bad aposto-wood"
And part two of the Vivamus saga: "Vivamus beating up the big bad wolf and living happely ever after with seven (actually really short) men.

not everyone feels comfortable revealing details of themselves on this forum, and i've never met anyone on this discussion board (but of course i hope i will one day!
) and i just thought that it would be fun and interesting for all of us to post a little about ourselves!.
i'm 40, own 3 businesses, married to a jw wife (wish i wasn't) and am addicted to a certain website..., .
My real name is deleted. I am deleted years old, live in a city called deleted in the region deleted of a tiny country called deleted. My hobbies are deleted, deleted , deleted , and deleted. My family consist of a deleted called deleted, three deleted called deleted, deleted , deleted and deleted, a deleted called deleted and twelve pets called deleted, deleted, deleted, deleted, deleted, deleted, deleted, deleted, deleted, deleted, deleted and deleted.
My favorite breakfast is deleted. Many people wonder why I am deleted and even more why I make such a fuss about being deleted. Call me crazy but there are things that are just way deleted and plain deleted. Therefore I shall refrain from bothering you about deleted.
I am inactive and a bit paranoid (did you notice?). I keep looking over my shoulder. My greatest fear: An elder suddenly jumps from behind a bookshelf shouting: "Gotcha!"

was it internal or external?
i know of some that pioneered because they felt they had to.
we know of many that felt awful because they were ridiculed because they were witness children and had to get baptized and face school pressure, all the while hating it.
1) Pressure to show interested while being totally bored.
2) Pressure to go in field service eventhough I am a shy person and did not see why we had to do this so ineffective way of proselatizing(sp?) in the information age.
3) Pressure to study my watchtower in advance and use an hour or more to do so (usually took me 15 min at best). I did not like to do this because this left me with totally nothing to do during the meeting and becoming totally bored as a result. Which in turn led to problem 1) .
4) Pressure to tell people I was one of 'hovas. I avoided this as the plague.
5) Pressure to listen to puffed up elders that think they have the right to dictate your life while they don't have any.
6) Pressure to connect with the youth 'inside' eventhough most of them were complete intellectual zombies. The ones that were interesting were deemed bad association or wordly. Strange how all my best friends were non-jw's. Got me thinking.
7) Pressure to conform to local unwritten rules.
8) Pressure to hold really interesting questions.
The whole basis of this religion is pressure. That is why it is a cult.

when we become jehovah witnesses, we actually were in love with the religion.
we were ready to defend it, even if we knew there were some things that were wrong.
don't we do the same with a person we love, don't we try to protect him/her even if we know they could be wrong.. the moment we started to open our eyes and saw that religion for what it really was, the love was already gone.. that's why it is so hard to go back to the hall.
I definitely wasn't in love with this religion. I grew up in it. I usually compare it to growing up in disneyland being told this is reality. When I discovered that Micky Mouse had a flesh and blood persons underneath a saw through it and abbandoned the whole thing. I never have been copletely sure and found it very hard to defend doctrines that made no sense whatsoever.

this tidbit of news caught my eye:.
maroccan heavy metal fans convicted.
fourteen heavy metal fans were sentenced to one month and up to one year in prison for 'morally degenerate' behaviour and violation of religion in casablanca, marocco.

Now I was thinking: If JW's would hold political power would something like this happen aswell?
My Guess is yes, and maybe in an even more extreme manner like the information control in N-korea and China (internet ban etc). This is what happens when you mix politics with religion. When this religion is of a fundy persuasion, hide yourself!
What are your thoughts on this?
it is not a case of her being appointed to conduct a congregational meeting.
in such cases the dedicated brother should offer the prayer, and the sister may conduct the study with her head covered.
for if a woman does not cover herself, let her also be shorn.1 cor.

i have not formerly introduced myself to you all.
i'm happy sistah.
i was raised as a witness.
I think that is what is so cool about the people on this board. They each have their own unique ideas an opinions. I just love it!
Amen to that Swan!
This clearly shows that 'unity' does not equal 'uniformity' unlike the JW's like to think. They claim to be one big happy brotherhood because they have one line of thinking. But this is not true: there are many different people with all different ways of thinking, only in the JW group that thinking is suppressed and channeled into one mind, one voice kinda mentality. No wonder many are depressed!
