1. told the entire cong.
that jesus coming in his kingdom was in about 31 or 32 ce when jesus got transfigured.
- this was during the weekly bible reading part... lol (the society actually says that about when jesus told the disciples that some of them would see him coming in his kingdom before they died...).
These are the best ever comments...I laughed the whole time ...

i'm a baptized member considered ''inactive.
'' i don't hand in ''service reports'',attend maybe 3 meetings a month, ain't signed up for the ministry school and will never attend any convention or the ''book study.
'' always make the ''memorial.
Faded over 10 years ago, do not attend anything. Probably ok standing as people talk to me when they see me. When they ask how ya doing? Like I should be miserable or depressed they figure. I always say life is Just great. Every day is wonderful, could'nt be better. People are dumb founded and that pretty much ends the conversation.
i saw some mention of this in another post, but i wasn't sure if there was a topic about it.
being raised in the "truth" its always pointed out that even people who haven't been to meetings in years still come to the memorial.
ive noticed that a lot of time that is actually the case.
I don't need to be at memorial to think about Christs sacrifice. I'm fine at home thinking about him, besides last few times when I was there I took note on how much it was about meeting
attendance and service for about 10- 15 minutes, instead of the real purpose of being about of christs death.
i've been reading alot of posts about spouses trying to get through to their mates still in dubville - with mixed results.
it seems to go like this: after some internal questioning the exiting mate shares what they learn with the stilladub mate.
at first the stilladub mate may be receptive and even share some of their own doubts and unresolved questions.
By the way...doing more fun things together causes missed meetings..perferably out of town. It gets easier after that to miss them. Show her that you have withdrawn from the KH not her.

Stick to watchtower quotes, and old publications to show where there were drastic shifts in teachings. Let the watchtower speak not you. This is what my husband did to me. At first just
the comments would make me boil, until I actually saw it in print. Some call it a blinking light or new light. I prefer to call it a resurrected light. What common sense tells us one can
teach I thing and then change back to the original teaching. Sometimes there have been up to 6 times they have changed. Example the resurrection of Sodom & Gomorrah.
We were taught back then to be like Jah in all his ways. But with Jah there is no variation even with the turning of a shadow."James 1:17". (heb 13:8 says "Jesus Christ is the SAME
yesterday and today, and forever." Doesn't sound like he's changing to much... the scripture in prov 4:18 in full context is a father talking to his son about our human experience our
knowledge getting brighter and brighter. But whom would it be more important to imitate Jah,Christ,or a young inexperienced son? It takes time, so use the bible, old literature anything
but your personal opinion and those branded as "Apostates". Eventually you will be able to slip in quotes from the "Crisis book by Franz. The fact she's starting to be late and miss a
meeting shows she has doubts or is growing weary. There is hope.

just wondering if any of you ever decided to report any kind of abuse, however small an incident it was.
tonight i reported an incident of 20 years ago to the authorities.
a man came up to me in london on the pretense that he was recruiting for christian dior and to cut a long story short we arranged to meet the next day for an interview.
Yes once I have. I felt this was too serious for dealing with elders who have no experience in this regard..and besides being a criminal offense, went right to the rcmp. Its something I will never regret doing.
recently we seem to have had a few different dramas and subsequent fallout on the fourm which i feel has detracted from its purpose.
with this in mind we have decided that we need to bring the forum back on track and as such we will be clamping down on a lot of the aggressive / insulting posts which have begun to become the norm for a few people.
we will also be clamping down on the paranoid assusation type of comments against newbies, if someone joins the fourm and you do not believe everything they post - so what, why do we need to hound them away with shouts of troll and fake etc, just ignore them if you dont beleive them.
I'm very new and have been concerned by many comments. After all most of us have been burdened by doubts; what ifs, are we doing the right thing by leaving? Especially if all family
& relatives are Jw's. Finding the support and experiences of others, as to how they have over come these feelings are needed by many others who are also visiting this site. Allowing for
for a few flaws and mistakes in statements as you say should not be taken personally. We all go through phases in this journey. The "5 stages of grief" what if your at stage 5 and I'm at
stage 1? LOVE would dictate making allowances for this!
Thanks for your timely words of wisdom

we all know how every congregation has that elders wife who takes it upon herself to be the hall's resident doctor quinn: medicine woman.
they are constantly pushing herbal supplements and natural medicines at the very least, and at times even getting a little "spiritistic" with some of the crazier quack devices out there.
do i think they're stupid?
Want to buy a used book? ha ha ha

i have found that the following books are still of interest and use to me, although i have 'walked away' from jw:.
1. greatest man whoever lived.
a lot of nice general info about jesus' life that is easy to read.
Hello,
I have only kept wt volumes no awakes, one nwt bible, all bibles bought at a book store that have nothing to do with jw's and any old, old books that have come into possession
that reference early bible doctrine from the beginings. These are the books no one wants you to have. I guess these are the ones that have helped to see things differently and have brought
me to this point in life. Being able to see for myself what others on this site have pointed out. For some reason the "Old light is more enlighting then the New light".
