  Do y'all celebrate Christmas in the same way every year?

  like me, most of you never celebrated christmas when you were growing up or when you were raising your children.

  because of this, i don't place a great importance on celebrating christmas.

  i do love the holidays because everyone seems so happy and i like the hustle and bustle of it all.

  hello people,

  i'd like to start by saying wow!

  i've only just discovered this "world" of ex jw's so i'm still catching up on lots of stuff, my story is a bit long so don't know if people have patience to read :p but if you can bear the reading then i'm happy to share.

  As A JW You Never Have Time To Smell The Roses

  you always were cramming to get to the next assignment.

  you had to personal study, read your daily text, read the bible daily, prepare for field service, prepare for meetings, get to them at the proper time, preach as much as possible, etc.

  we never truly enjoyed life..

  I have any time hardly now for just relax time it seems. I have no idea how I did the meetings, 3 kids and regular pioneering so many years ago.

  A Couple Points about New Elders Child Abuse Letter Directions ...........

  in aragon's thread which has reached 6 pages a couple of points were touched on that i wanted to bring out but thought these points deserved a whole thread to dissect and discuss them.. first off : there seems to be a total hypocrisy , arrogance, or typical speaking out of both sides of their mouth when the wt instructions in the letter says :.

  " the branch office, not the local body of elders, determines whether an individual who has sexually abused children in the past will be considered a ' predator ' .

  then this quote from the 1997 wt instructions : " and the congregation cannot read hearts to tell who is and who is not liable to molest children again.

  Then this quote from the 1997 WT instructions : " And the congregation cannot read hearts to tell who IS and who IS NOT liable to molest children again. "

  So is this the WT society just arrogantly claiming that ONLY THEY can read child molesters hearts and determine if he or she is a " predator " ? And/or is it just a control mechanism used to disempower the elders from making decisions on child abuse due to legal issues to defer to the WT legal department ONLY and EXCLUSIVELY now ?

  I haven't read thru the other pages yet but seems to me if they are actually going to police there is no need for anyone to read anything. It seems it has not really changed directions in procedures. The people need to know and take action when it comes to children to get outside help pronto.
