Reunions.....the aftermath
by RAYZORBLADE init's hard to believe, i joined this forum five years ago (january 2003).. i was happy to join here because it appeared at the time, to be a rather sane and welcoming place.
i really enjoyed it.
like any forum; i've been on others not related to jehovah's witnesses, and you see parallels.

Thanks for your story. I guess I resolved my self to the fact I could not look back and all freindships were over when I faded over 10 years ago. Mentally I had to focus on a new life, make new friends and look for new interests to replace the past ones I once shared with others. I soon found myself being able to talk to so called "worldy people" like I had never done before. I could just chit chat little things that were difficult as a jw. Time changes all and nothing ever stays the same.

The answer that is always given is that if they don't personally here the good news, there would be a community responsibility upon there heads. The same reasoning that is used to as regards minor children of non believers. The parents would take responsibility for the death of there children. I'm not saying this is just or justice but this is the reason (excuse)given.
Also they say (Wt) that the good news would be preached in ALL nations not necessarily to each individual.

Crackdown on "sisters" volunteering at DCs
by dozy inthe wts has sent a letter to all convention overseers expressing their increasing concern at sisters "directing brothers" at district conventions.. with immediate effect (ie for dc 2008), sisters are no longer to be used as volunteers in parking and security / watchman departments.
any sisters volunteering in other departments (eg toilet cleaning) must be subordinate & follow the direction of appointed brothers.
this move will put a huge burden on the dcs in my area - nearly half the volunteers for parking are sisters and there aren't enough volunteers as it is.

That was always hard for me to take how women were treated back in bible days and now. Ya know I've met so many "Worldly People" and they have relationships that I don't see many witnesses have. Like...sharing household responsibilities, cooking together,doing things with the kids together & just alot of 50/50 stuff and not its just one sided. I think thats so cool!

Its amazing that just when the WT has tried to go private with their study articles you have now managed to broadcast it to the whole world. You have proven that free thought & truth cannot be silenced, just because you can't say it at the WT study.

Alarming statement in today's study article in WT...

" this in the context of a wt discussing the israelites' exodus from egypt and how jehovah had them into a position where there seemed "no way out".

I can actually see this happening, tracts and no mags. Even a few building sell offs to gather more cash, I know of an instance here within a couple of years, about a farmer who left about a million to the society. One of the lawyers flew out here to collect it.

That's a wonderful story. It really touches the heart, makes me think of the movie "Life is beautiful" Although it was a dubbed movie I've sat and watched it twice. People really went through
