  A great suggestion from a current Bethelite on the chopping block

  a very close friend of mine has gotten his letter.

  although he was planning to leave willingly, he told me that he can't help but feel a sense of being stabbed in the back by a bunch of self righteous traitors.

  he gave tours for years, always telling the visitors "this is the best way of life, i would never change anything here and i'll never regret making this decision to come here.

  I agree with The Rebel, if most of them have any sense they should all start to make their plans about getting out, they are only going to continue to downsize even more, why hang around waiting for the inevitable

  back in my teen years this story swept through jw land, that according to, the guinness book of records , freddy franz, was listed as one of the seven, most intelligent , men in the world.

  dose anyone else remember this?

  i remember trying to look it up, but never found anything in print, and ii point that out once or twice , and was told a co, had told about it, and he wouldn't lie!

  Wow Barbara I've never heard the great "Oracle" refereed to as bluntly as that before, I was always perturbed by The Oracles great interest and almost obsession in visiting gay saunas in the New York area surrounded by "his boys"

  there was a lot of myths about his so called brilliance, university educated , multi lingual including Hebrew, including being an actual scholar in Hebrew, some incredible skill of recollection hence the non requirement that he needed outlines for talks, the simple fact was that none of the above was really true, an eccentric sexual deviant and an ego maniac and a liar during the Douglas Walsh trial, are the things that stand out to me now, some legacy.

  Apathy trolley chat

  i was in a different city this weekend so i decided to natter to 2 bored jws on the apathy trolley.i just nattered, nothing thought provoking or anti witness.

  i was waiting for someone so hard time to spare.what struck me was, that no matter how many times i said that i don't believe in god, they spoke to me as if i did.

  they kept asking me how god would feel about stuff.

  the last chat I had with two of them last year ( a young married couple mid 20's they seem to do a set day in my town every week) I got onto a couple of subjects primarily the ARC and the fact that "you lot" seemed to be in the news a lot these days because of their child abuse scandal, I also spoke to him briefly about shunning, the problem was I was dropping too many loaded jw jargon and he was listening very carefully and then cut the chat off saying he couldn't speak with me any longer, what irony!

  Finding time

  is it possible to full time pioneer while working a full time job without making up the hours?

  i know of a brother who recently got married too a pioneer the guy was really desperate to get married because his wife despite her many 'spiritual credentials' has very few christ-like qualities unfortunately, anyway that's besides the point.

  he is a pioneer now and i'm sure he will be a ms soon the organisation likes that type of stuff the 'pioneer couple' so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

  I think its very easy, I knew one pionsneer in my old cong who worked full time and pissed through the hours 90/month back then, he claimed it was very easy to witness and place literature with his work collogues, he even claimed he clocked 18 hours in one day, it got him onto the pioneer school also, they have some easy ways to book masses of hours weather it be leaving a leaflet on the bus on the morning commute, going gas station witnessessing and leaving home at some god forsaken time in the early hours to walking from one end of the territory to the other over a day, a good few miles.
