Billy ; your God doesn't act particularly loving does he?, and if you add up all the acts of genocide and murder done by your god compared to the Devil in the bible your god comes out on top many times over, what about the 2004 Asian tsunami where almost half a million people met their deaths in the most appalling catastrophic way possible, an event that us mere humans were neither able to predict nor stop, yet your angry, bloodthirsty evil, voyeuristic god of the bible sat back and watched the entire thing because he/she is meant to be engaged in a dick waving competition with the devil? you call that loving? I dont.

Christadelphian
by Billy1000 inmy name is stephen and i am new to the forum.
i am a christadelphian and through my discussions with fellow members of my ecclesia it has inspired me to reach out to other religions to find out exactly what others believe to enhance my own faith and further bring me closer to our heavenly father.

its not at all saddening Billy and there is no need to feel sorry for us at all rather you should be celebrating with us, to think I wake up every single morning with no thoughts of an imminent destruction of maybe me or my family or the billions of innocent people on Earth going about their lives in the most ordinary way being murdered by a psychopathic, moody, dirty, narcissistic, perverted, blood thirsty god from a stupid book, thoughts and fantasies like this have no place in our lives these days, we've moved on to far better moral consciousness. The teachings in all honesty do the exact opposite of promoting love Billy, being judgemental and using fear and guilt are not emotions that we need to have . -

Bets on when the UN prophecy will be dropped?
by marmot innow that i'm free to bet, i figured it would be neat to start a pool on when the watchtower is going to change light bulbs on the prophecy about the united nations turning on worldwide religion.
there is no doubt in my mind that this prediction will be dropped.
not only is this the longest-running unchanged prediction in the wt's history (1925 and 1975 had much shorter gestations) it's the last detailed concrete prediction the society has left in its bag of tricks.

another one they will have to be careful with after decades of utter hypocrisy and condemnation to the so called churches of Christendom who did join yet they joined deceitfully themselves, a lot of potential egg on their face, could have similar consequences if/when they drop 1914. In all honesty the so called "attack on them and religion" is an insane prospect and doesn't have any credibility at all. -

A Good Decade
by theliberator inif you were really into the organization back in the 80's, you have to admit, that it was the peak of the organization.
it was a time of high energy and excitement.
like any nation, it reaches a peak and then it declines.

I was baptised then also, the main issues were the "generation" and the preaching work being "completed" within the 20th century and other hard hitting pieces of false prophecy that clearly made them look like ass's once again, it was like rewinding 1975, and yes we did have a swagger about ourselves, the fool of a PO in my cong (and who was to go and testify against me in my JC Ted Sallows) was so convinced that the end would come by the end of the 20th century he would mention it numerous times in his talks, I doubt that he is still alive.Another generation left disappointed, shame that the ones still around have very short memories. -

"You don't go to church in a Kingdom Hall"
by stephanie61092 in"you don't go to church in a kingdom hall" was stated during the public talk yesterday.
the speaker then elaborated that "people who go to church, go to fulfill a spiritual obligation.
coming to the kingdom hall is coming to learn.

What's a word that describes the way Witnesses behave as a group?
by paul from cleveland ini can't recall the word that describes a group that keeps to itself like the witnesses do.
i thought it was "insular" but i don't think that's the one i'm looking for after reading the definition.
i remember an elder using the word "clannish" and that has the proper definition but it reminds me of a group of elves.

atheist here Billy, the bibles fables of a so called global flood, original sin, the talking serpent, a prophet being swallowed by a giant fish, sacrifices , plagues, and devils and demons being cast down to earth up to a man performing miracles who came from a virgin birth left me to the conclusion that its all a load of baloney. -

What Is The Watchtower's Biggest Problem?
by minimus inthe organization has many problems.
certain doctrines are problematic.
the men who run the organizaion have issues.

"yes it has its problems" LOL
I think we expect a bit more from an organizational exclusively selected by god to to dispense so called truths to the billions living on Earth and who is allegedly imparting holy spirit to this group, instead we see a dangerous high control group whose claim to fame is a history of failed prophecies, embroiled in a horrendous child abuse cover up policy which gets worse and worse, my endearing image of this group is a sickening dirty seedy bunch of misfits and losers.
"we have no idea about business/religious infrastructure"
the amount of ex elders, bethelites, special pioneers, circuit and district overseers and of course ex GB member Ray Franz have given us a very special insight into how the infrastructure of of a religious organization such as the WTS , is it any wonder how new light is suddenly adopted when dissenters expose the general stupidity of a vast amount of their doctrines , look what has been dropped by them over the years, and look at the amount of information that is leaked, a rather patronizing comment in all honesty.
