the hardcore line with stunning has been in force since the "Great Apostasy" and with Franz and others leaving in the early 1980's did it hurt them that much? I'm not sure it did, the R&F embraced the martyrdom that came with it, it made them feel self righteous and important, the INTERWEB and child abuse lawsuits are killing them and their ridiculous doomsday end times dogma that have run out of time.

What's destroying Watchtower!
by UnshackleTheChains infor me, beyond any shadow of a doubt, it's the extreme shunning policy.. at a recent sunday meeting, i listened to a complete brainwashed sister saying how important it was that we stick to the shunning policy even if it is a close relative.. i just thought.
wtf.
there is a big difference between the brainwashed and the awoken class!.

I had a chat today with two of them at their carts about the recent child abuse scandals , they were just clueless, absolutely brain dead, how do the R&F and their leaders think that the world out there takes anything they do seriously, they are a laughing stock, unless there is some radical changes in their leadership and doctrine they will just slip away into oblivion.

Another congregation bites the dust
by NikL inwent to the meeting last night with my believing wife.
the co was visiting and delivered a really cult-ish talk on loyalty but that's another story.. they made the announcement that starting january 1st they were going to have only 3 congregations in this town instead of 4.. they are dissolving one and growing the territories of the remaining 3. the reason given is that many of the elders are getting up there in age and can't do what they used to do.
basically not enough elders and ministerial servants...or even men reaching out for that matter.

" i've always liked this guy so we spoke for a few minutes.
my wife said that they could count their time since i am inactive.

we had a daft old cow in our old cong, housebound who used to write these long letters and would give them to my old man to post them throng the doors or give to the householders, they were incredibly long and she must have spent all week writing them, what a waste of time and energy.

elders can, not sure about the R&F, maybe their has been a change, incredibly patronising though calling on someone just to use them as a "time counter"
