So I went to see my dad give a talk

i have to say that it was quite a strange feeling.

for many years that i was in, i had to do a lot of pretending with various teachings i personally didn’t believe in.

still, i believed in some foundation and went for that.

Evolution of a congregation 1978- 2018

our whole congregation was excited as we stood in front of our brand new kh and smiled for the photographer from the local newspaper.. for years we had been travelling 30 mins each way to attend the meetings and now, after a big effort of donations and hard work we finally had our own kh in our own town.

in the picture, there were 45 smiling faces of all ages, from the newborn to the old brother that had turned 100 and everyone in between.

the year was 1978.. the congregation grew and shrank over the years, probably hitting its peak during the 80's and 90's, there was even a renovation in the early 90's that the local brothers donated towards, for the benefit of the local town to hear the good news about the imminent arrival of the end.

how many congs have dribbled away to nothing around the globe? a huge fanfare, so called state of the art construction methods, (useless) "quick builds" ( that required huge amounts of rectification work because of the terrible workmanship, they never told you about that did they?)local press and TV taking an interest, they are nothing but a joke this day and age, no wonder the D2D work has all but finished, they are an embarrassment and I never let a chance go by to tell them so, the very KH that I was married to my young jw sweetheart has gone, merged, amalgamated , finished , a distant memory

thanks for that news Freddo, stupid how they've tried to spin the re-branding of these once called great/grand International Conventions, remember the huge catering setups? the tents for other non English speaking DC's? ( I think i'll pop over to the Spanish speaking tent) the foreign delegates in their national garb? the "greetings" in the announcements section? none of it happens any more, they are on the way out, a busted flush.

SWAT; I'm afraid you are going to have to do a bit better with statements like " mankind descended from Adam and Eve because the bible says it and because I say it and if you dont believe it you are stupid" time to go back to the drawing board I'm afraid, learn to research, present your evidence, you may learn something, lowering yourself to childish insults makes you look very foolish indeed.

SWAT, I just prefer to see Mother Nature take its natural course, you me and a pack of wild horses cant change that nor will it ever change, there is something quite beautiful,sobering, powerful seeing an Apex predator, stalk,prepare and execute its plan when its comes to feeding time, your angry evil bloodthirsty perverted voyeuristic Hebrew god of the OT would have devised other tests that Adam would have failed, plus he had issues with angels that rebelled that she/he didn't address properly, he/she likes to use the "blame game" you know, never admits to screwing up which he/she has done numerous times

it was like leaving the asylum when I woke up and faded, the prospect of playing with ferocious animals that had become tame in a paradise earth even when I was a member of the R&F was ridiculous to me, utterly stupid, I moved on and didn't for one second regret it.

The Latest Thing Waking People Up...

since i woke up and left i've been contacted by others i knew from my youth who've also left the cult.

also people around the world on facebook adding me out of the blue because we have mutual friends and they occasionally ask me stuff or share their story.. what i've noticed in the vast majority of cases, is that people are waking up not because of the arc or doctrine but apathy.

active jws are becoming less and less interested, less and less bothered.

apathy has always affected them, its like a cancer clearly visible by their hopeless recruitment stats globally, I've never met a bunch of more downtrodden demotivated physically and mentally worn out people in my life, the cracks cant be covered over.

I have no doubt that the D2D work must be close to being finished in the area I live and many of the surrounding suburbs, you simply dont see them anymore, and I'm more than qualified to be looking out for them, unless you have been invited or are awaiting a parcel Londoners dont answer their doors to jack

the two ladies I speak with once every couple of weeks who operate the carts in my town also have a cart situated at the train station where the commuter trains disembark and I see them but when they are there at these times its busy with the passengers trying to head away ASAP, they stand there like they are handing out information that could be the answer to the ageing process or other such answers to our ills, or the winning lottery numbers, they almost shove the rags in peoples faces, naturally no one takes a blind bit of notice to the rags, FF a few yards up the road and earlier in the day. and if I see the ladies in a more suitable setting I'll stop have a relaxed chat etc, I commented that I often see them at the exits of the train station but as its busy I dont stop to chat as I understand its a busy time of day for you, last week one of the ladies replied " oh we really shift a lot of our magazines with those commuters getting off of their trains, only yesterday we shifted 60 of the rags in the space of a few minuets" I wonder why she would lie to me, there is not a chance in a million years they'd shift that amount especially in a boring dull commuter town like where I live and a part of London where KH's are being sold congs merged or disbanded etc, I present myself as a once interested person who's uncle was a jw and studied with me, if only she really knew what I know.
