  did any of you hear any of the urban legends that jw's used to scare people into being deathly afraid of demons?

  for example i remeber hearing that a child brough a smurf doll to a meeting and upon hearing the name jehovah uttered it got up and walked out.

  LMAO reading these and they are all B/S! couple that spring to mind about the tongue speaking in the obscure and the vile filth that was spoken, also when the Jesus and Mary Chain played a concert in London and asked all the Dubs to leave so they could summon the demonz and practise levitation etc , but the originator of all these legends was a pioneer bro in our hall who was very intelligent but he believed all of them

  they are full of sh*t!

  if i were a practicing jehovah's witness, i'd seriously take the governing body's words to heart immediately.

  since they don't want to add any further burdens on us, i would not "wait on jehovah (them)" but instead i'd follow the spirit of their timely words and cut out one more meeting night and save gas money!

  I believe that the younger G/B members have finally started to listen to the masses and have started to listen to the economic pressures that the R/F are having to face. Although this is about 20 years too late I believe that the WTS will become mainstream in the next 5 years, first to be dropped will be the blood issue, followed by possibly another meeting removal, shunning will be a matter of conscience, less pressure to count hours, finally I need to have a chuckle about sisters from 3rd world places who would travel miles across crocodile infested waters etc , to get to a book study,but it was the most pointless,boring, waste of peoples time

  maybe the R/A are finally realising that the treadmill of service, meetings . pre study etc has been too much for the last 20 odd years, more like claps of relief

  What is the latest weekly schedule for Dubs these days?

  it's been many years since i went to a meeting and my last ever contact was 1 afternoon of a d/c circa 1994, so what is the latest weekly schedule that dubs have to turn in these days?

  in my time it was .

  1) tuesday evening book study in someones house (1 hour).

  It's been many years since I went to a meeting and my last ever contact was 1 afternoon of a D/C circa 1994, so what is the latest weekly schedule that Dubs have to turn in these days? In my time it was

  1) Tuesday evening book study in someones house (1 hour)

  2) Thursday ministry school and Service meeting (2hours)

  3) Sunday morning at 10am Public Talk and Watchtower Study(2 Hours) ,

  and if I tried hard enough 10 hours on the F/S is this still all the same? I remember some years back regular/auxiliary pioneer hours were dropped, has there been any other reductions/increases?

  in all my years of jwing, i never actually brought anyone up to the stage of baptism.. i had bible studies occasionally, but they usually fizzled out after a while.

  i can't think.

  of more than a small handful of witnesses that ever actually got a study from door-to-door.

  Luckily no, could never stand F/S and I were no more than a 10 hour a month publisher at best , and the thought of going over the Live Forever book in a home study was not for me ! Bought a few out though

  Help finding a scripture

  been trying to find a scripture i think o/t that is used to counter react the wts twisting of their adherence to abstaining from blood and all things strangled etc, the scripture speaks about if you obey a law of god that could threaten your life that you should rather save your own life rather than adhere to the law, anyone know where i'm coming from?
